Customers Called 'Fat Girls' on Restaurant Bill

The dinner bill for three friends at Chilly D's Restaurant stung, but it wasn't the price - printed on the top of the receipt were the words "Fat Girls".

"I got the bill, I was looking at bill [and] I was like, 'Why does this receipt say 'fat girls?'" customer Christine Duran said.

The friends had dined out at the Stockton, Calif., restaurant, which is a part of the Cameo Casino Restaurant, on Thursday. The bill lists charges for three tri-tips with fries and three sodas, for a total of $25.50. A bartender named Jeff had apparently typed in "Fat Girls" to keep track of their bill.

When Duran asked a manager for an explanation, he "had like a smirk on his face, like it was funny but trying not to laugh," she said.

Unfortunate to say the least. Actually, it's downright crude.

Prejudice is alive and well when it comes to overweight individuals, but especially girls.

I don't know about a lawsuit, but I certainly wouldn't have a problem with the firing of the person responsible.

I never knew waiters and bartenders used such a system.

From now on, I'm gonna check all my receipts to see if any of them say "Obnoxious prick" at the top.
 
It was rude and poor customer service, but people don't have the right to not be offended :shrug:

I've often wondered why I've had so many waiters named "skinny nervous guy." now I know.

Being mean or rude to people who have done nothing negative to you is simply really bad behavior. It should never be encouraged.
 
My point was that it is so commonplace, I'm not sure why this particular story made the news.

I'm good looking and in shape, so in my world everybody is nice to each other. However, I recently made a good friend who is a bartender at a local bar I go to, who happens to be significantly overweight. It amazes me how many times the subject of my friends weight gets brought up. If I have dinner and a couple drinks at his bar, he might be called "fat" 6 or 7 times by various people during that time span.

It blows my mind. I never knew people were so nasty before. Especially women.

In fairness...from the pictures Ive seen it was...accurate...
 
If they don't have numbered tables, or someone forgot to include the number with the bill, how else would they match the bill with the correct patron, without a description of said patron? Isn't it possible that their weight was the most significant, identifying physical description?


Just saying.


In other news, we're fighting a couple of wars in which there are multiple casualties every day. But by all means, let's give some offended people their well deserved 15 minutes...
 
I hate to tell you all, but it happens. yes workers trash talk you all the friggen time. It happens to all of us and don't think it is just the fat ones. if you are a pain in the ass customer yes you are talked about harshly and insultingly. If you are goofy and strange you are commented on and laughed at. If you are too damned perfectly normal you are bitched about and trash talked. However, it is extremely unprofessional and quite inexcusable to let that venting and bitching get back to the customers in any way. Go find a private place or someplace anonymous and rant you ass off, and do not screw up because if somehow it gets back to the customer it is your job that will go away.

I am realistic about things. Slap a smile on your face, be polite and do your job. i have to suck it up to when I do mine. they may weigh a friggen ton, but it is their money that is paying your salary. Don't put fat on the damned receipt. hope the guy gets fired for it because there is no reason to do that. Find another way to keep track of your tables. Sometimes i don't have a clue where people's heads are.
 
And so what ? Did you see them ? They're huge. It may have been bad customer service buts thats it.

Grossly obese individuals have their lack of self control to blame and encouraging massive weight gain by pretending that this isn't a serious issue in our Country is dishonest.

It does have an effect on our health industry as premiums pile up for healthy individuals while obese individuals chew their way into a handi-cap.

Time to get real people. Type 2 diabetees is at plague proportions in the states.

Plus its just disgusting to look at.

I bet if they have that reciept and took it to a lawyer..off and running he would go and in the end the fat girls pockets would be a little fatter along with their attorneys...
 

Just look what the media has done to Chris Christie and Michelle Obama doesn't help the situation by some of her policies. She is actually making bullying worse. The thing about weight is you can lose it, many have and to belittle and bully those for their weight is just nasty.

I might add the governments so called pyramid of eating is wrong. If you want to lose weight, cut out the bad carbs...sugar and white flour are killers.
 
Horrible customer service, guy should be fired, but I laughed :lol:

Let's not pretend this isn't pretty funny.
 
I look at this article and I ask "where's the beef?"
 

If i were those girls i would definitely not leave a very big tip.....
