There are caterpillars all over my carport:shock: Should I be concerned and why are they on my carport?

Are they of the space alien variety?

yes, you should be very concerned, they carry hoof and mouth disease. seriously.

You should try talking them out of jumping

Caterpillars are suicidal! They always squirm right under my foot as I'm stomping and screaming "die you bastards dieeee"

Umm. Thanks so much for the advice. Gosh:(

Kali...don't worry about them. The caterpillars are harmless, and they will eventually disappear. This is the time of year that these little buggers come out of their nests and infest everything, until they find a place to turn into moths (or butterflies of some sort).

I have them all over the property here, although they are not too bad this year here. Oh, and they make good fish bait.

OMG how can you say that! Have you ever seen godzill vs mothera!

Give them a break today, because its earth day. But after that, kill them. If you think its wrong to kill, hose them off into someone elses yard.

Thanks so much because I feel better now:cool:

I love to fish and am down with using nigh crawlers but not sure I could use the caterpillars as bait.

No no no! You kill them because it's Earth Day. Then bury them and return them to the Earth as an Earthday present. If it were Caterpillar day, then you'd let them live.

To Kali: I hear they are mighty tasty fried.
