Jesus is the firstborn of all creation...that is exactly what Colossians means...

ARCHANGEL

The prefix “arch,” meaning “chief” or “principal,” implies that there is only one archangel, the chief angel; in the Scriptures, “archangel” is never found in the plural. First Thessalonians 4:16, in speaking of the preeminence of the archangel and the authority of his office, does so in reference to the resurrected Lord Jesus Christ: “The Lord himself will descend from heaven with a commanding call, with an archangel’s voice and with God’s trumpet, and those who are dead in union with Christ will rise first.” It is, therefore, not without significance that the only name directly associated with the word “archangel” is Michael.—Jude 9

Angels are created. How can Jesus be over all creation if He Himself is part of creation? Can He be over Himself?

And the scriptural support for that would be?
"If you see your brother or sister committing what is not a mortal sin, you will ask, and God will give life to such a one—to those whose sin is not mortal. There is sin that is mortal; I do not say that you should pray about that."

Because he is God's firstborn, only begotten...

That is in no way scriptural but adding to scripture...

"If anyone makes an addition to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this scroll;" Revelation 22:18

Because he is God's firstborn, only begotten...
That doesn't address the problem. How can Be be above ALL creation if He Himself is created?

1 John 5:16 is scripture.

Again.

If Jesus is a creature, then how can He be above all creation? How can He be above Himself?

Paul tells us exactly why in Philippians 2:9-11...God exalted him/gave him that position...

"For this very reason, God exalted him to a superior position and kindly gave him the name that is above every other name, so that in the name of Jesus every knee should bend—of those in heaven and those on earth and those under the ground- and every tongue should openly acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father."

You're not addressing the issue. How can Christ be above all creation if He is a creature? How can He be above Himself?

I most certainly did...God exalted Jesus to that position, just as Jesus said he cannot do a single thing outside of God's initiative...Jesus's authority/power comes from God...without God, he is nothing...

“Most truly I say to you, the Son cannot do a single thing of his own initiative, but only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever things that One does, these things the Son does also in like manner." John 5:19

No. St. John says specifically that there is sin that is not mortal.
All sin by mortal man is mortal sin...how can it be anything else but?

Sounds like He perfectly has the will of God. Which only makes sense since He is God and this is the only way He can be above all creation.

No, the scriptures make it clear all glory and power Jesus possesses was given to him by his heavenly Father...

A more accurate translation states...all sins committed by mortal man are mortal sins...

"If anyone catches sight of his brother committing a sin that does not incur death, he will ask, and God will give life to him, yes, to those not committing sin that incurs death. There is a sin that does incur death. It is concerning that sin that I do not tell him to make request."

At 1 John 5:16, 17, John evidently refers to willful, knowing sin in speaking of “a sin that does incur death” as contrasted with one that does not. (Compare Nu 15:30.) Where the evidence indicates such willful, knowing sin, the Christian would not pray for the one so offending. God, of course, is the final Judge as to the heart attitude of the sinner.—Compare Jer 7:16; Mt 5:44; Ac 7:60.

That doesn't exclude Him being of the same substance of the Father.

This says the same thing. Some sins are mortal. Some are not.
