California library kicks out ex-college athlete after being accused of misgendering

Trans women would be competing against cis women and trans men would be competing against cis men. Trans girls would be competing against cis girls, not cis women. Trans men would be competing against cis men, not cis boys.

I heard the speech, she was not being a bitch just because she was honest. She wasn't transphobic, she told the truth. That she was told not to call the transwoman a man is just a joke anyway. A transwoman is in fact a biological male. She changed her comment from male to biological man and was still admonished for telling the truth.

Like I said, i agree that trans women should not be competing with cis women in most sports, so I hope more people are exposed to that position in a way that is effective.

Trans women are real though, and calling them men is offensive. No one should need that explained to them. At this point, the only reason to do it is to be intentionally offensive.

Yes, the librarian said they were breaking California law which was his justification to shut down the meeting.

California did pass a law in 2017 criminalizing misgendering but it was overturned a month later.

The insanity also includes the lack of nuance those who are not in favor of transgender women in women's sports use to get their message across. I don't agree with the idea of not having speakers express their views, even when in this case, the speaker was being overly broad in her characterization by referring to transgender women as biological men. While technically accurate, it doesn't include the fact some transgender women have been on hormone therapy to reduce testosterone levels. There is a lot to work out here, which is why we need to have broader conversations.

Calling them "biological men" is the truth. If the truth is offensive to some, that's their problem.

It's being transphobic. She knew it, was admonished for it, then decided to denigrate women, demoting them to "girls" in order to be worse. She was being a bitch.

I'm a older white man. Based on that I've been called racist. I'm not. It is offensive to me when I called racist. Why can the left do that and get away with it. They have no proof, except that I'm an older white man. Trans women are biological males. Born a man, science, DNA, genetics says they are a man. Why should I be expected to lie and say a biological man is a woman?
Here's a solution. If a biological man wants to be woman, let science decide. If they want to be referred to as she, her, then have a legal name change, to Sue, Jane, or some other name that denotes the feminine sex. Otherwise I'm going to call them the name on the birth certificate in any official situation. Asking teachers to call boys girls is just not reasonable.
 
This must be new. When I went to libraries the librarians would shuss EVERYONE who tried to talk. When did they start giving speeches?

Thank you for admitting to be a science denying gender critical. Is there any other fact of science that you want to deny exists? Maybe evoltion or heliocentrism, or would you prefer to support alchemy and miasma germ theory?

If gender idneity didn't exist then trans people also would not exist and has been a fact for more than 50 years, but it does exist, so your claim is not true, because human sexuality is not binary but instead is more complex than just a person's biological sex and genitalia. Maybe you would also like to deny sexual orientation is not always heterosexual while you are pontificating on this topic?

I do have to wonder why you are so poutraged about gender idneity that you would be so willing to broadcast your ignorance of sexuality and your denial of medical science for all to see?
 
Given there is almost no informaiton nor context, it feels like this article almost intentionally is designed to create outrage, and thus clicks.

Ugh. This is what happens when libraries are used as event spaces. Whatever happened to everyone shutting their pie hole in the library.

I'm a middle aged white man. I never feel like people are calling me racist. I understand white privilege enough to know that it's existence isn't my fault.

Trans women are real. Calling them men denies that.

You are free to call them men, no one is going to arrest you for it. Some people may think you are an asshole for doing it, and treat you accordingly. Just don't be surprised if that ever happens.

Calling trans women "men", is the wrong side of history. It will die with us.

I'm not supporting the decision the librarian made here.
