but this country has strict gun control laws

Yep, and the US has a strict immigration policy and a very strict recreational drug ban. What matters is not what the law is, but how well the law is actually enforced. ;)

Yeah, I am strongly in favor of people's right to own firearms but it doesn't matter how strict gun laws are if a country lacks the will and ability to enforce those laws. Mexico's law enforcement isn't exactly world class.

when the police are corrupt and the government weak, even better argument for a well armed citizenry

Unless you are in the corrupt government, then you tend not to like that idea. ;)

people most deserving of being shot by good and honest citizens tend to be leading advocates for gun bans or gun restrictions

When the local mayor and police force is in the service of a drug cartel what in the world does that have to do with any gun laws?

gun haters and other assorted clowns tell us that we need gun bans to make us safer. Mexico has gun bans

WOW!!!! Talk about a complete and total disconnect between what actually happened in Mexico and this blatant attempt to twist it into a vitriolic and totally out of place rant against gun laws in the USA!!!!!

And using the death of those kids in Mexico for this purpose is shameful.

is there a point to your comments?

I was using it to show that countries with idiotic gun control aren't safer as many of the gun banning turds claim

I will take you claim as to what is shameful seriously when I see you damn gun banners who used Newtown to push gun control

I see a connection and nothing shameful.

It's more of giving advice to Mexico (even though they may not necessarily see it).

it has nothing to do about giving advice to a country where perhaps as many as half the judges, politicians and Law enforcement officers are on the take and ought to be put in prison or perhaps shot

its about a corrupt government that doesn't trust its own citizens to own arms. corrupt governments are that way. politicians needing shooting want to disarm good people. They don't worry about criminals being armed because criminals and corrupt politicians tend to be in bed together

The point is that if the people of Mexico weren't disarmed, they might have a chance of protecting themselves against drug cartels and corrupt police. This is a perfectly legitimate point, and it's one of the reasons that gun rights are so important in our own culture. Since we have such a relatively high level of freedoms, coupled with a diverse range of citizens and cultural mixing, our crime rate is high compared to other western democracies. Take away our right to defend ourselves with deadly force, and you'll likely see violent crime in the this country rise.

its good to see someone got the point. exactly. corrupt governments and disarmed citizens are an evil combination

Sure - I get that... because when the police arrest a person they allow them to bring with them their loaded weapons so they can kill the corrupt cops if they smell a rat on the way to the station.:doh:shock::roll:

Perhaps a second reading will help you?

Perhaps you computer screen is malfunctioning as my post was both spot on and the essence of perfection.

You, as usual, missed the point entirely .

Well, whatever you intended didn't work. All you succeeded in doing is showing that you've started to drag through third-world countries looking for favourable comparisons.

I will take you claim as to what is shameful seriously when I see you damn gun banners who used Newtown to push gun control

I suggest you read your posts out loud, to yourself, before you post them.

:doh:roll::lamo

Some times the mind just boggles at absolute arrogance and talking down to the silly peons and plebs who don't know what government thinks is good for them.

Great example.

Do you have a point about the topic?

That is only true for good laws that have a chance of working.

Now if you or anyone can explain the proven principle upon which gun control laws are claimed to work actually works.... You may have a point. Instead an enforced law that is oppressive and removes rights for some no matter how dolled up and glitzed with promises, rhetoric and fairytale window dressing CANNOT WORK.

What do you call a law that CANNOT WORK that is enforced regardless of the fact it cannot work?
