Because the Islamist in question SAID he didn't?
You are awfully ignorant if you think Islamism is a liberal ideology.
What do you mean "we", and why are you going to watch this particular man's back? Whom are you expecting to attack him... the BBC? Because quite frankly beyond the BBC article and this forum, I've heard absolutely nothing about this from American news media. It may have been picked up from the BBC by a few outlets, but none that I've seen.
So who do you believe is out to get this man, and why?
If that is indeed the case, why did he spend 16 days in jail, as reported in the OP's article? That sounds rather bizarre to me.
The court had heard how Lord Ahmed sent and received a series of five text messages while driving in the dark at speeds of, and above, 60mph along a 17-mile stretch of the motorway.
Mr Justice Wilkie made clear the texting incident had no bearing on the fatal collision.
Sentence 'nothing'
But he added: "It is of the greatest importance that people realise what a serious offence dangerous driving of this type is.
"I have come to the conclusion that by reason of the prolonged, deliberate, repeated and highly dangerous driving for which you have pleaded guilty, only an immediate custodial sentence can be justified."
-snip-
Outside court Lord Ahmed's solicitor, Steve Smith, said he thought his client had been used as a "scapegoat" by those attempting to drive home the message about not using a mobile phone while at the wheel.
well.... if by liberal you mean leftist...
Well the belief was that he was being made a scapegoat of
BBC NEWS | UK | England | South Yorkshire | Peer jailed for motorway texting
As you can see both at the original trial and at the appeal it is acknowledged that he had not been responsible for the accident. It may be that this happened just shortly after texting was made illegal and may therefore be that he was indeed being made a scapegoat - such things do happen.
yeah, i mean, it's not as if the legitimacy of lying to unbelievers was actual Islamic doctrine or anything....
Oh. Wait.
Those on the Far Left have a real affinity for radical Islam, because it is rabidly anti-American and rabidly anti-Israel - sentiments that form the core of the Far Left view of the world.
If it's true then I hope the CIA or Secret Service does something about it. Such things inspire terrorists and this man should be severely punished if what was quoted is true.

Can't help to express you're "patriot"? At least one thing is true that Bush has been accused of "war crime". Will you activate CIA and Secret Service?

What utter bosh! Radical Islam is ultraconservative religion incarnate.
You shouldnt. The military does. Our rules are in place to prevent anarchy and a military overthrow of governors and leaders we 'dont like'. You cant join and provide honorable and faithful service under one president but decide you dont want to play just because a different president with different ideals and values is elected. So...again..very correct. YOU shouldnt join the military. Those that do...you have 1 opportunity every four years to say 'no'.

Actually, the military is sworn to protect the Constitution. If a President does perpetuate human rights abuses, the military has the right to not follow those orders since they go against the Constitution.

Yes, because one of the things we insist on with our military is that they be experts on constitutional law - especially on those sections where they disobey direct orders. You'd better be damned sure you are right before you try that one on.
A member of the House of Lords puts up a bounty for the capture of one former and one sitting US President:
Of course it is, so why do so many of you extreme left British posters defend it at every turn?
You're attacking them as a source, insinuating they may be lying. Why? What reason do you have to think they would, especially now that you know more about them?
Why is it that you want to disbelieve he said this? At this point, it's pretty obvious that you do.
and in a related development, the foxes have been put in charge of investigating a series of missing chickens......
 No Government is going to try to arrest George Bush. I remember when people started having these fantasies in the 2004 time frame. I had to spend about 10 pages convincing some German that his nation would not survive the resulting war.
