I agree. Iran has always acted rationally.Tehran is as likely to deploy nukes pre-emptively as France, England, the US, India, Pakistan or China. They have monstrous assholes in charge, not lunatics. And for forty years, they have been careful to walk a very narrow ledge, which demonstrates discipline. Iran absorbs provocations in the same manner as most other second tier regional powers, nuclear or otherwise.
The chief threats to global and regional stability (a somewhat value neutral metric) and peace (far less neutral, that) are 1. Russia, 2. Russia, 3. Russia, 4. Donald Noron Trump, 5. Russia and 6. Trumpian and Russian backed race-nationalist challenges to democracies.
However, their government was overthrown only ~50 years ago.
So, I wouldn't count on long term stability in the country & long term stability is vital to safe guarding nukes.
