I'm not sure how much worse it could be. They already funded and equipped multiple multinational terrorist organizations with the explicitly stated goal of wiping Israel off the map. They did that because they couldn't do it conventionally. A nuke would have solved their problem and I would never have put it past the Iranian Islamic regime to use them on Israel if they had been successful. Not to even mention the egregious human rights violations they have inflicted on their own people for over 4 decades now. I hope the good people of Iran that we all praise when shitting on their government take the reins, or we will see history repeat.
 
Bibi is the problem. Like Trump he's dodging prison by Presidency. His overweening desire for greater Israel has killed thousands, Israeli's as well as Palestinians.

I fail to see how that would be worse. Also, at this moment I'm not sure how their recruitment and promotion efforts are going. At some point, someone with some brains has to say let's throw in the towel and stop all the death and destruction.

Remember, right now Israel is roaming free in the air and has many many boots on the ground to continue the disruption of the IRGC (which we can tell so far has been very successful.)

As an internal security force, it has proven to be effective only at controlling an unarmed populace.

That's where the regime change idea could fall flat - citizens could never pull it off imo.

Unless the army stages a coup.
 
Head of IRGC intelligence, his deputy, and pretty much all top command of IRGC intelligence were reportedly eliminated in a strike on Tehran.
 
Do tell what the US has to intercept Iranian ballistic missles if they are fired at US troops in the region because none of the missle intercept systems are capable of stopping ballistic missles.

They've been saying Iran is close to a nuclear weapon for over 25 years. Nobody believes that anymore. If they wanted nuclear weapons they would have them by now. Once Sadamm was gone their need for nuclear weapons was vastly diminished.

Isreal has nuclear weapons. Why can they say Iran can't have them when Israel has them?

That's because Israel keeps killing their nuclear scientists and sabotaging their program in other ways, but Iran's going deeper underground. I do agree with you that there were other ways to handle this, though.

If Republicans had not been so hellbent on owning the libs, they could have supported Obama's framework, which, by all known measures, slowed down their enrichment program to a virtual standstill. Not saying they solved the problem long-term, but they did achieve meaningful progress in slowing it down and creating a framework for future dialogue. In fact, it was successful enough that - guess what - MAGA Jesus basically tried to restart that framework but wiping Obama's name off and putting his name on it.

I'd concede that there's context that needs to be added. Trump saw a nuke deal with Iran (framework 2.0, let's call it) as part of a much larger national security tilt away from the Middle East and Russia and toward China, which he views as a serious adversary. Obama had China and Russia in mind, too, but he saw a much deeper commitment to the Middle East militarily than Trump has and does. Obama saw Russia as a pain in the ass but not a threat in the present, and I think he was wrong about that. He saw China as a potential threat long-term, but in the shorter term, more of a pain in the ass in terms of our influence in Asia - he was partly wrong about that, too, though 2015 was a different world than 2025 or even 2020. But he got some of the specifics right, and the 2015 deal was a good move, IMO.
