From Detroit News.com:

Joe Biden sought to distinguish comments he made assailing partisanship during the 1999 impeachment of former President Bill Clinton with his support for removing President Donald Trump, whose Senate trial nears its end Friday.

“It’s not a partisan impeachment,” Biden said on ABC’s Good Morning America program Friday. “He violated the Constitution, period.” Biden says Trump impeachment ‘not partisan,’ unlike Clinton case

Nope, not partisan at all.

Biden's not wrong.

Nothing says I'm not partisan as much as impeaching the other party's president for non-crimes.

Yep, as proof Biden can point to all of the republicant votes for impeachment in the House. ;)

Years of fake Benghazi and email investigations into Hillary produced absolutely nothing. Here we actually have evidence, over a dozen corroborating witnesses, and even multiple public confessions by Trump, but the Republicans believe a president is completely above our laws and not subject to oversight from the other branches. Comparing the two is comparing apples and hand grenades.

He;s not? Well that should be easy to check, which House Republican voted for Trump impeachment again?

Half the voters wanted the President removed from office. That's more than merely Democrats.

And acquitting your own party's president while admitting the opposition proved it's case.

Sad, no?

75% wanted witnesses and documents. And if anyone was watching, the approval to remove has been steadily ticking up, that's why the republicans forced this as fast as possible. The more that comes out, the more independents flip, the close you get to 61%, 63%. The core support for trump would never flip.

But the GOP doesn't care.

LOL, the left's version of the truth seen through a liberal lens where nothing the left does is partisan and everything the GOP does is wrong. Last I checked lying under oath is perjury regardless of the issue, Trump has been proven not to have broken any laws. Implementation of foreign policy is the role of the President, lying under oath undermines our entire legal system

22 months of Mueller, 3 years of attacks on Trump, no House witnesses proving Trump violated any laws none of which matters to the liberal party today. Pelosi called the witnesses she wanted during the House hearings and then held the articles up for a month showing just how biased, weak those charges are. I do recognize that nothing is going to satisfy you until Trump is removed from office. That will be in 5 years

Acquitting a person who never should have be charged is strictly legal. It's called jury nullification.

15 democrats voted with republicans to impeach Clinton.

0 republicans voted to impeach Trump.

The Trump impeachment is bogus.

Oddly enough the only bi-partisan stance was against impeachment. I fail to see how this impeachment can be considered anything but partisan.

The time to get witnesses and documents in order is before the prosecution takes its case to trial. Yes, that takes time, but that is how the system works. Your assertions that the republicants forced the House demorats to act fast (rush to trial?) is pure BS. The plan all along was to blame the Senate republicants for the failure of the House demorats to get more witnesses and documents presented by the prosecution before the trial.

This tape of Biden came up near the end of the Q&A when a group of Republican senators presented the question to the defense over Biden's statement on the impeachment of Clinton in 1999. The defense was ready for it and hit it out of the park. Immediately the Democrats sent a question to the House managers to give them an opportunity to work on damage control and an opportunity for closing arguments before the hearing was adjourned for the day. After Chief Justice read the question to the House managers, what happened next was hysterical.

Watch Nadler jump up out of his seat to scurry to the microphone and Schiff thought he should answer and give final remarks and is seen standing and heard saying 'Jerry, Jerry, Jerry'. Nadler ignored him a proceeded to answer the question.

My take away is even Nadler was tired of hearing Schiff speak.

What Trump said on the phone call with Zalensky was inappropriate and unethical.
Does it rise to the level of an impeachable offense? NO.
Should he be removed from office because of it? NO.
Should he be censured? MAYBE.
The Democrats, in a NON-partisan fashion, got their impeachment.
Now let the jurors decide as per the Constitution.
Get over it Trump-haters and move on to the 2020 election.
But knowing the residual power of Trump Derangement Syndrome, the Trump haters will have the 2020 win by Trump as just another legitimate defeat to whine over the for next four years.

How about caring enough to get past this phony sham of a trial and move on to serving the American people instead of serving the grandstanding needs of Nadler and Schiff?
There is more to political life than just trying to nail Trump because it looks like another loss this coming November.
Why else would Democrats be panicking over letting the Senate do its job in this sham trial?

Excellent response. I apologize beforehand for plagiarizing your response so I can use it in another blog.
Well put. Right to the point.

My mistake. I meant to write "In a totally partisan fashion" got their impeachment.

You may condone inappropriate and unethical behavior from the president, but I don't.

There is an important difference between inappropriate/unethical behavior and criminal (felony?) behavior.

I see a strong argument that this is the MOST partisan presidential impeachment in history. Poor Joe.

I guess your crimes do not become relevant until you are running for president. It kind of seems suspicious. They should hold this impeachment after the election just so it doesn't appear to be partisan.

I personally think that Trump should be punished for every single crime he committed as president. What were those crimes again?

I thought Trump's crime was, "Abuse of Power". That term can be defined 300 million ways by 300 million people. Committing sexual acts with someone under your employee is a little bit easier to define. It is an activity involving a penis or a vagina.

That deleting emails nonsense was crazy. I delete spam all the time. I think when you charge someone with a crime it should be airtight and impossible to refute. That is just my opinion. Even if the person did commit a crime and you can't prove it then you will look like a douche bag with no morals whatsoever. I think this impeachment trial is about Democrats gaining seats in the Senate. That is my best guess. After the election we will see if it worked or not.

There are better ways to destroy your opponent than abusing the court system. This is what the trashiest of trashy people do out in the trailer park. Do we have trailer trash in the House of Representatives and in the Senate? I guess so.
