Supporting actions that increase child trafficking and rape is wrong and is not "treating people with dignity and respect." The cartels are very happy to have you as an ally. The answer isn't to change things in such a way as to support increased abuse and lie about our policies that contributed to the increases. The answer is to support actual immigration reform and more enforcement. The more we enforce and protect our border the less people will try to come here illegally and therefore the less people will be killed, raped and trafficked. The policy of zero tolerance which had the effect of jailing misdemeanor cases and separating children from their parents. Out of humanitarian concerns Obama did not do this now sometimes separations were unavoidable but as a policy Obama did not do this and Trump did

I fully agree with the above statement and would just like to add that those who use the false equivalency argument by bringing up the cartels that traffic in human misery and suffering and saying that those that are "against the wall" are supporting said cartels need to realize that the private prisons are being paid up to $775 a day to house immigrants in their facilities, and that those working in those prisons guarding them are paid over a hundred thousand dollars a year with full benefits.

THAT is your real human trafficking right there. Plus, in 2020, giving covid as the excuse, thousands of children that were separated from their families at the border did not even go through a farce of a kangaroo court nor were they given any due process, but rather were put in hotels, were again, money changed hands to keep the children there, and while advocates for the children were physically prevented by armed guards from being able to go in and see the children and provide them with representation, nor did any child welfare service personnel come to see them, there is absolutely no record kept of who might have been allowed to see those children. So THEY might have been being trafficked WHILE in the custody of the US GOVT.

Anyone really interested in human trafficking and protecting children should look into that. Not into clogging up trafficking assistance lines with the Qanon "save our children" complete nonsense.
