They are delicious! Get some regular Kyrstal's, and put your own cheese on them, with fires, and a corn pup. damn I'm in heaven.

I cannot eat Carl Jr's or Burger King burgers, I don't know what they do to them, but something in the "charchoal" grilled chains cause me severe gastro-intestinal problems, always have. Guess I will stick with Subway and other sandwich shops instead.

That's how I am with McDonalds. I can eat a Hardees/Carl Jr. thickburger or a Whopper and feel fine. However, if I was to have a Big Mac or a double cheeseburger from the dees, it's a certainty that I spend most of the night on the john, clutching my stomach, and making pathetic whimper noises.

Krystals, or White Castle burgers if you're from anywhere outside the southeast, is what you eat when you're drunk and it's 3am (and there's no Taco Bell in the immediate vicinity). I don't know ANYONE who eats at White Castle unless they're drunk or high, as illustrated in the very first Harold & Kumar movie.

New poll: what is better, dog crap burger or horse dung burger? All commercial fast food is garbage, why try to choose between different brands of garbage?

I don't know what McD's did to their burgers a few years back, but I cannot eat them anymore either. Something changed in their taste and to me, it actually makes me feel ill. I just cannot bring myself to foce them down. Was it just something bad at one of them, nope. My parents still eat there sometimes and I have tried them again at several different locations, it's definitly something in the chains beef, not a local problem. Maybe it's related to the fact that I boycotted them for years and years after they gave money to anti-gun groups, my system cleared all of it out and is now rejecting re-introducing it.

Oh it's absolutely not a local problem. It's just something to do with their meat, or whatever they pass for meat.

If you were to look at the patties from McDonalds and compare them to Wendy's, Burger King, and so many other chains, you'd even see the difference as plain as day. While many chains use quality beef, McDonalds seems to use some generic substitute that's hardly edible.

What-a-burger without question. In and Out are too petite and not Texas quality.

I guess part of your choice hear would really be based upon whether you think burgers are a good fast food. Frankly, give me a good Yakitori/Yakisoba stand like in Okinawa or maybe a Gyros/Suflaki stand from Greece, much better than burgers anyday.

The best burgers were at the bowling alley at the Air Force Base in the Azores. Nice greasy egg mushroom burger. But maybe the beer from the club prior to going there had something to do with it also.

I just answered the question as it was asked. If I was given a choice of any meal I wanted at any given time, a burger would never make my top 10, and probably rarely make my top 20. I'm too close to a Chinese joint who makes some kickass General Tso chicken, a gas station with a delicious pizza, an authentic Mexican restaurant, and a nice sit-down restaurant with some great chicken dishes. Hell, there's even a Subway around here when push comes to shove.

Oh good a anti-fast food snob.

I have had both whataburger and In and Out. In and Out wins hands down. No contest. I get the Double Double animal style, (pickels grilled onion and mustard) the obligtory fresh cut fries animal style as well (the burger spread melted cheese and grilled onion), and a large Coca Cola. Tasty Goodness.:) Its the best chain hamburger bar none. If I want a hamburger fast thats were I go. They pretty much do only hamburgers and they do them very very well. Everything is fresh buns hamburger vegitables everything. They also especially clean for a fast food restruant. I love that part. As far as nonchain restruants go Fatburger is right up there in my all time top ten. We got a place down here everyone likes called Johns. Good Eats. Thats my take.

Excellent thread KSU Aviator. Thnx.

The last time I was at an In and Out, the bun was half drier than the Sahara and half soggy. It was like they dipped it in water before they gave it to me. Then, the burger had zero seasoning. The fries are just as bad...not cooked at all in the middle. At least at Whataburger they season the meat and the fries are fully cooked.

Never had either

Besides Five Guys have the best burgers anyway so it's a moot point.

nah....Five Guys is good, but doesn't compare to In n Out....and its much more expensive. If they were right next to each other, I would pick In N out 10 times out of 10....but if there isn't an In N out around, five guys isn't bad.

That's the thing about 5 guys, it is the same quality for 3x the price.

To be absolutely honest I have never had a problem with quality from In and Out. Like all endeavors there are gonna be mistakes and they have made mistakes with my order before, when I point those out they fix without complaint and with many appologies. I am surprised they did that to you. The company is very good about keeping up standards, and theirs is a couple of steps above everyone else. Were was the restruant and when? You might want to make a complaint if it was recent. They are very serious about their reputation, they do not mess around if they screwed up they want to fix it.:(

I just finished reading my post here. I sound like a In and Out publisity rep.:D Damn I might be an In and Out snob. .....................Oh well.

I've only "eaten" there twice and I've had bad hamburgers both times. The first time the hamburger actually got thrown out the car window and I went to McDonald's to replace it. This last time I just ate a peanut butter and jelly when I got home. As far as I can tell, it is their norm to produce inedible food.

Which one did you eat at?

You must've pissed off the food gods at some point. I used to live in California, and have eaten at In-n-Out probably at least 100 times. I can recall one time where I got an undercooked burger. Never had an issue with their buns or fries or condiments. Their consistency and quality is amazing.

This whole thread seems unreal to me, in some ways. I know people who don't care for their food, but even they've never said it was bad quality, it just wasn't their taste.

That's the thing about California...you never get an "under cooked "hamburger. They seem to think well done is ok...it is not.

First was near Ontario Ca and the other was in Lake Worth Tx.

Well if your experiance was that bad, if I was you I would make a complaint to them. They take their rep seriously. I am afraid I am one of those people who dont like the cow to be mooing when I eat it. Well done works just fine for me.

Sounds similar to my experiences with Jack in the Box.

I can eat Whataburger, not my first choice for food, but I can eat it. I have been to In-and-out at least once when in Vegas, but really dont remember the food, so apparently I didn't think it was the greatest burger of all time.

Oh good a anti-fast food snob.

Did you note the word 'commercial' in my post? Fast food's fine, but crappy mass-market slop-churning makes me queasy. Is that snobbish? If so, guilty.
