Yeah, Teddy and National parks, Wilson and his failed attempts to prevent another world war cause Europe insisted on punishing Germany, FDR and evil Social Security and the outrageous protection of workers rights to organize plus that nonsense about four freedoms, LBJ and Medicare, the bane of old people that torments me in my old age, Carter and his non-biased human rights policy that gave hope to those behind the Iron Curtain and, a surprise, suffering from right wing death squads in this hemisphere, Obama, who tried to reach out to Iran as Nixon did to China, finally tried to catch up with the rest of the developed world with the ACA, with all of the rest of the world on the enviornment, a horrible record. How will we recover? Ans, we won’t: repeal of the ACA is dead, the Iran agreement is still held to by the other countries, they are still acknowledging climate change and working on it, the ghastly policy on the border has been changed, Trump admits Russians actually involved in Ukraine and in our elections after denying both things. Sooner or later he will even admit that the Central Park Five were innocent. After all, he paid up on Trump U.
Trump will be an embarrassing footnote in US history.
One can find good in nearly all presidents past.
The Socialist Wilson in his disastorious 2 terms during which the 17th amendment was passed, created probably the ultimate ruin of the nation with the Fed, put our economy under centralization, was about as authoritarian as we have ever had suspending speech rights, was a REAL racist supreme, got us into our first foreign entanglement wisely warned against by our founders and framers, particularly George Washington, and then tried to start a wildly utopian dream of achieving "world peace" with his childish creation the League... what a horrfic joke he was. Good lord, but you have been brainwashed well...
Hardly (simply not ) worth it to go through each of those rosy scenarios you depict except to say we know which path those all utltimately lead a country and that is to the Venezuelan model...faster, slower, unless the cycle can be broken it goes that way. The sapient understand this intrinsically, the smart figure it out... and what is proven is the framers model that has brought us wealth, strength/ power, general prosperity and, until the last 40 -60 years, the self satisfaction and contentedness with being proud Americans...
You folks on the left have infected us with self doubt, with a sense of shame where there should be none, just being smart knowng all nations, like all of us, make mistakes and should not ignore but learn from them. Not constantly harp and blame in the many forms and techniques in the shallowest of virtue signalling.
Good lord, you can say slenderman was Nixon on steroids in using government dirty tricks...but to compare him to the international masters, the team of Nixon Kissinger, in understanding the riff between China and Russia and playing them off against each other to the worlds benefit?
