I think the same way too, however, there is one major difference. In Loughner's case, he was not motivated by right wing rhetoric where it looks like this guy actually did believe some of the left's rhetoric.Actually, if they can create the atmosphere and are to blame, then they are also right about political rhetoric.
I think I am one of the few left who actually blame the perpetrators themselves for their actions.
No Barb, you're not. If this is all you were saying, I have no problem with it. Specifically because you are correct. Conservatives, Palin, Rush, Beck, and the Tea Party had zero to do with what happened, and anyone who says different is a left wing hack who is doing nothing but policizing a tragedy to "stick it" to the other guy. I have nothing but disdain for these folks, both here and in the media. But what you are doing is going a step further. Instead of just defending yourselves against the lies and idiocy, you are producing the same lies and idiocy towards the left. Makes you all look just as bad and perpetuates the problem. You want it to stop? Keep defending yourselves against the stupidity, but stop the ridiculous attacks.

So? How does that refer to anything I posted? One of the thing that grief counselors suggest is that the person grieving tell their story over and over, helping them to understand it and purge the emotions. I don't think that HOW he's doing it is helpful... no news agency is going to care about his mental health. They just want a news story that will incite others... into another news story. He needs to be talking to a mental health professional. I thought that was pretty clear.
Dude...... I am VERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRY mad at you right now. You SHOULD be smarter than THIS! :hm

Well, except that if this guy blames the TEA Party where there was no connection, where did that belief come from? That is an assumption in both cases, and an excuse made in the second.
Perhaps... but perhaps the left wing rhetoric came about because of right wing rhetoric... which came about because of left wing rhetoric... which came about because of right wing rhetoric... which came about... Get what I'm saying? The blame does not fall on the left. The blame does not fall on the right. The blame falls on the atmosphere that extremists and pundits of both leans create. There are individual incidents that can be incited by either individual side, but that's not looking at the big picture at all.
No, the left wing rhetoric that came out were lies and speculation.

I don't think I've ever had a noodle pissed at me before. Sorry, GN, not trying to piss you off.Dude...... I am VERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRY mad at you right now. You SHOULD be smarter than THIS! :hm

Moderator's Warning: If you start mucking up a thread with a good discussion going on, I'm going to have to hurt you.
Exactly. The sheriff then krugman came out with lies and speculation and the media ran with it. Apologies and retractions from the left are in order.
I just don't want him hurting anyone. I think Loughner's responsible for his actions. I feel the same way about this guy.
I 1000% disagree! This man SHOULD be SENSITIVE to what happened! Not the opposite!!!
I detest this. Every RATIONAL person, democrat and repubs, should know this violence is created by a CRAZY son of a bitch!!! :soap
:unsure13: I made some home made chicken soup. Its yours!
There is very little fat in it (unlike OTHER THINGS!!! :soap ) and its all chicken breast meat. It has white beans and vegis and freah herbs too. Plus my breathern noodles!
It's more heated because of the lies that were told after the shooting. No you missed his bigger point, which is that stuff like this has been going on for a while. It is just more heated and noticeable because of the shooting.
Be honest though, CC. Aren't you curious what those left wingers who did blame the right are going to say about this? I am.Apologies and retractions are in order from those on the right who claimed that Loughner was a liberal. Apologies and retractions are in order from those on the right for those who are "birthers". You want me to go on? You want to focus on ONE side. ONE side didn't start or perpetuate this... no matter how badly you want/need it to be true. This goes back far further than Saturday.

Show me where heated political discourse had anything to do with this shooting.
Show me where it's right to accuse the tea party, sarah palin, dana perino for crying out loud, for having blood on their hands.
If anyone wants the rhetoric to tone down someone should tell the media. So far, no apologies, no retractions.
Actually - if a victim who suffered wants to blame the party then I'm all for it . . . I never judge what someone in that situation thinks or feels and I won't hold it against them.
It's everyone else not directly affected that needs to stop the ridiculous rhetoric - but if a victim is hurt and angry then I'm not about to encourage them to *not* express that.
