Ashli Babbitt's brother faces new criminal charges

What a horrible thing to say. Only an Asshole would say something like this.
I believe there are people who miss her, mother, father, boyfriend, siblings, co-workers.
I'm sure there are plenty of people that will miss her. There are plenty of people who miss young men who are killed while burglarizing the wrong house too. It doesn't change what they did, however. Criminals take risks, and Ashli Babbitt was a criminal who broke into the wrong building and paid the price for it.

Don't you understand- if she really believed the election was stolen from Trump in 2020 by the evil left wing mob, then the law didn't apply to her.

Not long ago the Democrat Party had a relationship with the KKK that was identical to what they have with groups like BLM and Antifa. It was common for spokesmen of the KKK to address Schools, Union meetings, Business Conferences, College Campuses, Etc. CRT is nothing more than a modernized version of that.

Lefties Democrats are still the same Nasty Racist today that they were 100 years ago. After WW2 they realized that White Supremacy was becoming unpopular and therefore no longer a winning political tactic. They did not give up on using racism for political gain they just started exploiting it from the opposite end of the spectrum. Yes, there was a big switch, just not one that involved the GOP.

There is a lot of racism in the US today, its just that 99% of the actual racists call themselves Progressive, Liberal or Democrat.
I completely disagree.

It is true that the parties switched on racism. That occurred about the time of the Civil Rights Movement. Racists left the Democratic Party and joined the Republican Party.

It is not true that racism is no longer a winning tactic, as proven by Donald Trump.

Anybody who objects to teaching our racial history in schools is probably a racist who is pretending not to be, and doing a good job of fooling them self.

The parents are already set in their ways. The school kids, we can have some influence over.

We need to break the cycle of cross-generational racism, and schools are the best way to teach the next generation to be better than the previous.

The brother of Ashli Babbitt, the woman who was fatally shot while trying to break through a door in the U.S. Capitol during the Jan. 6 insurrection, is facing new criminal charges for allegedly assaulting a man in Ocean Beach, CA.

Prosecutors announced that 33-year-old Roger Witthoeft will be arraigned next week on charges of battery and vandalism. The Times of San Diego reports that Witthoeft allegedly physically attacked a man whose car was temporarily blocking a sidewalk while he was helping a disabled friend out of the vehicle. He allegedly knocked the driver to the ground and stomped on his cell phone.

Witthoeft already is facing hate crime charges for an incident in September when he allegedly slapped a Latin American worker with San Diego Gas & Electric who was diverting traffic at an intersection where SDG & E workers were repairing a utility box. Witthoeft was angered by the traffic disruption and allegedly told the worker to “speak English you (abusive) immigrant” and “go back to your country."

“Witthoeft’s contempt for those who differ from him because of their nationality or disability is reprehensible,” said Mara Elliott, of the City Attorney's office. “This office will fight hard to hold Mr. Whitthoeft accountable.”

Hey, have you got something interesting about the second cousin of the former boyfriend's sister's next door neighbor's high school friend's grand father's former business partner's nephew?

Inquiring minds want to know!

It's her brother. Goodness. Seems the same angry traits run in the family.

The most hateful people you come across are on the left. Dont take my word for it though. Read through these threads

There is far more to life in America than chatting at this forum, which is definitely NOT a representational cross-section of America. It would be highly unwise to assume so.

Agreed but it's most definitely true here on the average, not even clise.

I'll remember what you wrote when a police officer shots someone who is actually armed. I'm sure you and your friends will be the first to throw stones.

Why did you care so much about George Floyd's past trouble's? They had nothing to do with his death. That's all we heard for months. Look at his drug abuse, look at his criminal record.
What? laughable comparison

Did anyone look into George Floyd's siblings or parents criminal past? Not relevant.
George Floyd's criminal past? Relevant

Did anyone look into Babbitt's criminal past? Relevant
Babbitt's relatives criminal past? Not relevant

And, what - EXACTLY - does that have to do with anything that is even remotely related to something sort of similar to being more or less of passing interest to an incredibly bored person?

Ashli Babbit is already dead. Not sure why you're still going after her. Should they exhume her corpse and shoot her again to satisfy you?

Talk to the news agency with your complaints.

What I did

Saw the headline - said "Who cares?" - moved on.
What the OP did

Saw the headline - said "WOW!!! This'll really slam Biden!!!" - posted it on DP.

You do have a point...

This was just said by someone on the right...

Yet, you have commented several times now in it so apparently you do care or more than you care to admit.

If right wingers are still mad about Babbit being shot, they need to direct their anger at the right subject. Donald Trump. If it wasn't for his election lie, she never would have been there. She would be alive and well in California. As usual Donald Trump's ineptness gets people killed.

I am wondering if some in this thread are taking the fact that Ashli was shot personally or they are just so upset about it that they feel the need to lash out on those who dare bring it up in any manner. Very interesting this thread...

Indeed, I have commented on why anyone would bother with this totally irrelevant piece of "news".

So far, as best as I can determine, it is either because of prurient interest and/or a desire to find SOMETHING (no matter how stupid or silly) that they can use against Mr. Biden.

Thats not an example of hate. And no, I dont expect you to objectively examine the hate hateful posts from your side. That would take a level of integrity that people on the left dont possess.

Agreed but it's most definitely true here on the average, not even clise.
That is only your perception. The SPLC tracks Hate Groups in the USA. There are way-over-the-top more right wing hate groups than left. The hatred in this country is primarily on the right.

The hatred includes:

Hatred of Immigrants.

Hatred of Gays.

Hatred of Muslims.

Hatred of Jews.

Hatred of Blacks.

Hatred of liberals.

Hatred of government.

Hatred of elections which do not produce a right wing winner.

Hatred of diversity.

Hatred of Hispanics.

Hatred of Democrats.

Hatred of of the main stream news media.

Hatred of doing anything to deal with Climate Change.

Hatred of progress.

Hatred of transgender people.

Hatred of abortion choice.

Hatred of the word 'woke.'

Hatred of teaching the bad part of our racial history.

Hatred of CRT.

Hatred of President Biden.

Hatred of AOC.

Hatred of Nancy Pelosi.

Hatred of sensible gun control legislation.

And on and on and on.

This is all coming from the right.

The Parties didn't actually completely switch, and that's the part where people sometimes get wrong, especially on the right. The Parties back then were not nearly as united, single minded in their views, stances on the issues as some seem to currently believe. The CRA vote, when looked at by region and Party shows some really interesting evidence of this.

In the South, there was a lot of changeover after the CRA vote, particularly after Nixon's Southern Strategy, but it took about a decade or more to switch a significant amount of people. Congress was almost completely dominated by Democrats in the 1960s because of the different views of Democrats from different groups of people.

If a person is actively breaking into a building (armed or unarmed) where people are taking shelter from a violent mob and is shot by a police officer in the process, I would side with the police officer.

That all sounds like an interesting analysis except the part about which party the racists used to be in and which party they favor now. It used to be the Democratic Party. Now it's the Republican Party. Any dispute to that is folly.
