Army to Begin Forcing Out Soldiers Who Refuse COVID Vaccine, Including Guardsmen

Can you imagine what would happen if the FAA made being able to read and speak English optional.
People are arguing that the military shouldn't require enlistees to take a vaccine against a disease that could lay out personnel in critical condition for weeks on end, or even kill them. The idea that up to 20 or 25 percent of enlisted personnel could "call in sick" on any given day or in any given week is unthinkable, just as unthinkable as a crew of air traffic controllers if 20 percent of them were illiterate or will only speak Esperanto with a heavy Swiss accent.

Aircraft by the dozens would be crashing on takeoff and landing or falling out of the sky every single day.
Likewise, the military could suffer crushing defeats in crucial operations, and the survival of remote base personnel could be seriously jeopardized as well.
Operational Security could be seriously compromised, too...jeopardizing future operations.
Militaries must maintain a readiness state approaching 100% or as close as is practical at all times.
They can't afford to have a significant portion on the injured reserve list at all times because of a choice...they already have to operate under conditions like that due to WAR injuries. Soldiers who insist on opting out of COVID vaccines are demanding the right to get self-inflicted injuries by choice.

My wife says these people should stop being a bunch of (grab em by the) ******s.
She says "remind them of BOOT CAMP and the induction process, where we all stood toe to toe, breathing each other's god knows what, as they shoved all these shots in our arms, and we didn't even know WHAT all of them were!"

1. So, you get a COVID vaccination - you're in the clear, right?
2. No masks, no separation, no concerns about catching the virus, correct?
3. You can't carry and infect anyone with the virus, right?

1. You're in the clear from catching a severe case that lands you in the ICU.
2. Who said that? And who said you can't catch the virus? No one except idiots you shouldn't be listening to.
3. You CAN carry and infect others, it's just that once you're fully vaccinated, you're carrying LESS of it because your body can CLEAR the virus, thanks to the protection of the vaccine.
See? You're WOE, Wrong On Everything, because you listen to idiots.
Don't listen to IDIOTS.

Hard to explain why in some places 60-80% of serious cases and deaths are vaccinated. I don't recall that happening with any of my Navy vaccinations.

Quit lying and spreading disinformation. You cannot show ANYONE ANY evidence of "60-80% of serious cases and deaths" being vaccinated persons.
Show us where you get that crock of bullshit, I bet it's Dr. Joseph Mercola or some other paid anti-vax liar.

Because we have dissidents in the ranks of our military and are weeding them out? If their army personnel tried such behavior they would be executed.
Now they are "dissidents"? I'm surprised you didn't just call them outright "Traitors".

It did nothing of the sort.

It exposed you as nothing more than a fact free antivaxxer.
And yet I've been vaccinated since mid-March; as I have reported several times on the Forum. Guess that makes you the fact-free one, eh?

I’m just curious, does the Navy allow individual sailors to each “research” themselves and decide the science? When I served, we sure as hell didn’t let each soldier decide which orders they would follow.
Nope, the use long-approved, not EUA, vaccines. And I don't recall needing "boosters" within in few months. Maybe the Army was different.

Yet you regurgitate the same antivaxxer BS....

Your might be a hypocrite....

Oh, and in your 22 years of service you didn't get a booster? Ever?

If so your booster babble is a bit out of place, eh?

Guess what.

COVID-19 Delta is a bit different.

But feel free to antivaxx with your "EUA" nonsense.

Nothing currently is EUA at this point.

Since when did the military get to choose to be vaccinated. I still have nightmares about marching through the vaccination lines in basic training.

I guess the army was different.. failure to follow a direct order was insubordination.. I find it hard to believe the navy tolerated insubordination.

Did you serve in some kind of special snowflake unit in the navy?

Depends on who they are. Not everyone in the AF is a pilot or maintenance tech. If they're senior experienced airman it's not a one for one exchange for the person that enlisted yesterday.

That is a stupid concept.

You exchange for the next guy down the ladder.

What military were you in that replaced senior airmen with E-1/2?

Anybody tell the CDC:

The Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson (J&J) vaccines were initially issued emergency use authorizations (EUAs). The EUAs allowed them to be used during the COVID-19 pandemic without being fully FDA-approved.

But some people haven’t felt confident with the EUA process and have been holding out for the FDA’s full stamp of approval. The good news is that we now have one FDA-approved COVID-19 vaccine, with another one likely not too far behind.

Here we’ll be tracking the latest on COVID-19 vaccine approvals. Check back with GoodRx for updates.

Even if all are the roles you mentioned, all will be fine.
