No, there isn't a difference, really.


Only those who have Christ, are given the Holy Spirit.
Only those who have Christ are considered children of God.
Only those who have Christ, will enter the Kingdom of God.

They become co-heirs.............................. with Christ!




Romans 8

14 For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons[f] of God.
15 For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!”
16 The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,

17 and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.




What, then, does it mean to suffer with Christ?
It may include the idea that Christians can expect to be persecuted for our close identity with Christ (John 15:20).

It may refer to what Paul wrote earlier that to put our faith in Jesus is to be so closely associated with Him that we ourselves die to sin on a spiritual level (Romans 6:5–8).
Or perhaps this suffering is the suffering that Jesus experienced in daily life on a sin-ravaged world, something that every person lives through.

Paul will describe this universal "groaning" of existence in verses 22–23. Those in Christ, however, suffer with Him on their way to being glorified with Him once this life has ended.
For Christians, suffering in this life is never meaningless (Romans 5:3–5).

When Paul told the Philippian jailer what he must do to be saved, he was referring to the jailer’s eternal destiny (Acts 16:30-31).

Jesus equated being saved with entering the kingdom of God (Matthew 19:24-25).


What are we saved from?
In the Christian doctrine of salvation, we are saved from “wrath,” that is, from God’s judgment of sin (Romans 5:9; 1 Thessalonians 5:9).
Our sin has separated us from God, and the consequence of sin is death (Romans 6:23). Biblical salvation refers to our deliverance from the consequence of sin and therefore involves the removal of sin.
We are saved from both the power and penalty of sin.


How does God save?
In the Christian doctrine of salvation, God has rescued us through Jesus Christ (John 3:17).
Specifically, it was Jesus’ death on the cross and subsequent resurrection that achieved our salvation (Romans 5:10; Ephesians 1:7).

if you don't inherit the kingdom, you will not enter the kingdom.

Salvation changes us from the inside, if that is not true, then start over.

repentance/confession is a daily thing. too easy to get lost in this world; thankfully Jesus is the great Shepherd of the sheep and continues to guide his people into righteousness.

i believe a person can walk away from faith and resist the call of God, forfeiting their salvation. thus few there be that find it.

No, there isn't a difference, really.

If there is a hierarchy in heaven, which there is(e g…Paul’s mention of the 3rd Heaven)….then there is a difference. To inherit means one has been chosen to be a custodian….and a custodian has authority. Salvation was a one time deed for all people…..all are saved but not all realize that. It is the realization that effects change in people. Remember…..Jesus said it was hard for a rich man to ENTER the kingdom of heaven…. not impossible. Now this tells me that some just barely enter the kingdom……from that point it then becomes a learning process….not yet being able to have the authority of custodians….not yet being angels, cherubim’s, seraphim’s, etc.
 
In reference to my previous post….#364….the church, itself, follows this same logical principle. A new convert to the church who has just made his confession of faith is not immediately given authority……he is not asked to give next week’s sermon nor is he asked to be a teacher, etc.
 
1 Corinthians 6:9-10
"Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God."

Let me ask……is there is a single one of these sins that God is not capable of forgiving ? And if forgiven does this not mean that they cannnot ENTER the kingdom of heaven ? For me, entry is still theirs…..we might believe in a hierarchy of sins….but God says all have sinned….there is but one sin that cannot be forgiven and that sin, in itself, can disappear with repentance…..these literal readings of scripture are misleading if one does not allow for the difference between entering and inheriting….IMO……

Jesus talked about the narrow and broad roads of life.

those on the broad road go to destruction.

Jesus made it simple, people complicate things.

i go with Jesus, keep his commandments, and you are in.

Apparently Jesus won’t forgive your 491st sin. But up to 70x7. There was a Swedish film titled “491” on that topic.

No, no mistake...

Because of what both Jesus and Paul said, salvation is not a done deal, salvation is a process...until the end of our life or the end of the world, whichever comes 1st...

"But the one who has endured to the end will be saved." Matthew 24:13

“Keep working out your own salvation with fear and trembling.” Philippians 2:12

Nor can we take that process of salvation for granted...

For as regards those who were once enlightened+ and who have tasted the heavenly free gift and who have become partakers of holy spirit 5 and who have tasted the fine word of God and powers of the coming system of things, 6 but have fallen away,+ it is impossible to revive them again to repentance," Hebrews 6:4-6

"For if we practice sin willfully after having received the accurate knowledge of the truth,+ there is no longer any sacrifice for sins left," Hebrews 10:26,
