English picked up both the concept of hubris and the term for that particular brand of cockiness from the ancient Greeks, who considered hubris a dangerous character flaw capable of provoking the wrath of the gods. In classical Greek tragedy, hubris was often a fatal shortcoming that brought about the fall of the tragic hero. Typically, overconfidence led the hero to attempt to overstep the boundaries of human limitations and assume a godlike status, and the gods inevitably humbled the offender with a sharp reminder of their mortality. hubris

What a sensitive little being you are. I know many Christians with a sense of humor and can take a joke.

Salvation is the foundation of Christianity. Yet not all Christians believe they are saved (past tense). Some believe they must live a certain way and then they might be saved in the end times. I believe Romans 10:9-10 clearly leads one to salvation. And yes I believe that once saved, always saved. Salvation opens the door to being born again of spirit.

This poll is meant for Christians, even though I believe there are some atheists here that are born again despite their lack of belief. If you believed once, God has not abandoned you, even though you abandoned Him.

Bolding our late friend's point above.

Romans 10:9-10 NIV - If you declare with your mouth, - Bible Gateway

If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be … saved.

For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.
