Are blue states increasingly becoming sanctuary states as G.OP. & SCOTUS "talibanizes"?

Is outflow of red state residents inevitable reaction to, consequence of what is described in OP?

Where is it documented that residents are flowing out of red states?

It only makes sense if people are getting sick and tired of economies in states like CA, NY, NY, IL, and other blue states with clumsy fiscal policies.

Then why does California's population continue to rise?
If that were the case, it would be because idiot Gavin Newsom continues to find ways to pay the poor and homeless to come to CA.

People Still Fleeing California & Illinois In Droves, According To U-Haul Data

  • UHaul, with additional information by LakeExpo Staff
  • Jan 6, 2022 Updated Jan 20, 2022
Migration trends set off by the pandemic are still radically reshaping the nation, and the big losers continue to be the states of Illinois and California.

Those states saw the largest net loss in residents during 2021, based on data provided by U-Haul®. The company measures the net gain/loss of one-way U-Haul trucks entering a state versus leaving that state in a calendar year. Migration trends data is compiled from well over 2 million one-way U-Haul truck customer transactions that occur annually.

The five states that saw the highest number of net exits were Alabama (#46), Massachusetts (#47), Pennsylvania (#48), Illinois (#49), and California (#50). Illinois and California also came in dead-last in U-Haul's 2020 net migration metrics.

I love the theory, absolute bullshit hyper-partisan theory, but theory nonetheless that we have been proceeding along this straight path with few changes or events and all of a sudden conservatism turned towards the Christian Taliban for no reason.

Now, do not pretend for a second that I look at where today's GOP is at as warranted or supported by me.
-snip-

Would you rather Hillary's liberalism, as you described it. was not fake?

We are stuck with only two choices and historically, it has not been even a close call.
You brought up Clinton's womanizing.

Would he have been impeached for it if G.O.P., the only ones approving of the Starr "inquiry" and the impeachment
had the foresight to know that not only would Newt resign, but his intended successor, Livingston, because of adultery,
and his successor, Hastert, imprisoned for money laundering in response to blackmail over molestation of high school boys in his charge
as a coach.

The only reliable gauge in a two choice "system" is to follow the money and determine if the people, generally, even get a
piece of the action, and under which party. It isn't even a close call. The $700 million "pandemic" loan to Yellow Freight is the
most recent support for my point...

What is the national debt per person?

If you divide $30 trillion by a population of nearly 330 million, you get a national debt per person of approximately $90,909.

Then why does California's population continue to rise?
🤣 It's not. But, it's cute that you think it is.

From January 1, 2020, to July 1, 2021, California’s population declined by almost 300,000, according to Department of Finance estimates. An increase in deaths, sharp declines in international migration, and a rise in residents moving to other states account for the losses.

According to new data released today by the state Department of Finance, California’s population declined by 182,083 people in 2020.

California remained the top state for out-migration, but its net loss of U-Haul trucks wasn’t as severe as in 2020. That can be partially attributed to the fact that U-Haul simply ran out of inventory to meet customer demand for outbound equipment.
People are fleeing California so quickly that it's hard to get a truck to move your stuff to another state.

That's why serious people on both sides are eagerly looking forward to a national conversation in the coming decades on the peaceful and harmonious division of the United States into several safe zones so that people can choose the kind of society in which they will feel safe and happy and contented.

By the end of this century, the United States of America will no longer exist in its current configuration.

The so-called American Experiment was a failure -- as many people knew that it eventually would be.

Half of the "outbound" states are red states. The amusing part is the guy who posted it even liked where there was no documentation, showing that they didn't read their own link.

People struggle at math. Most of the states being fled are blue, the ratios of the fled blue states are significantly higher, and the populations of those fled blue states are significantly higher. The amusing part is people can't do basic math and lack inductive reasoning skills.

Incorrect, of the outbound states in your link, these are red

Kansas
ND
Ohio
Indiana
Louisiana
Mississippi
Nebraska
Missouri
Oklahoma

That's 9 out of the 20 listed and another 2 are mixed (VA and Indiana).

By the numbers, your argument does not prove what you think it does.

If you want to make a population based argument, then you should provide a link or your own proof for that. In order to effectively do that though, you will need stats on the ideologies of the people leaving various states.

While some states such as West Virginia lost population during the same stretch. :)

Kentucky enjoys a "mixed" state government, after voters ejected one term G.O.P. Gov. Matt Bevins who
ordered the dismantling of the state's ACA healthcare insurance marketplace website that had been very
popular since its inception in 2014. Gov. Bevins committed to imposition of a work requirement for the
state's already expanded medicaid recipients despite the compliance tracking costs being greater than
anticipated savings and a work requirement not included in the federal ACA legislation.

As Trump later did, Gov. Bevin reacted to his election loss by abusing his pardon power on behalf of the
worst of the worst.

McConnell calls Bevin's pardons 'completely inappropriate'

McConnell said that Bevin has the power to issue pardons, but disapproved of ones for those incarcerated due to "heinous crimes."

Kentucky features the 44th least educated adults who have repeatedly returned Senators McConnell and Paul to the U.S. Senate

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A federal judge on Thursday temporarily blocked a state law that effectively eliminated abortions in Kentucky after the state's two remaining clinics said they couldn't meet its requirements.

The decision by U.S. District Judge Rebecca Grady Jennings was a victory for abortion rights advocates and a setback for the Republican-led legislature, which passed the law in March and then overrode Democratic Gov. Andy Beshear's veto of the measure last week. One of the clinics said Thursday that it would immediately resume abortion services.

Judge temporarily blocks Kentucky's new abortion ban

April 21, 2022

The new law bans abortions after 15 weeks of pregnancy and requires women to be examined by a doctor before receiving abortion pills. It also contains new reporting requirements that the Kentucky clinics said they couldn't immediately comply with. Noncompliance can result in stiff fines and felony penalties.

Jennings' order did not delve into the larger issue of the new law's constitutionality. Instead, it focused on the clinics' claims that they're unable to comply with the measure because the state hasn't yet set up clear guidelines..."

Uh huh! Ghost shithole states in our future? 15 to 20 more West Virginia's ?
They wouldn't break the filibuster to protect voting rights of minorities, how about in reaction to this?

Overturning a 49 year old, 7 to 2 opinion.

I wish I lived in a state with stand your ground laws and concealed carry at will that voted heavily for Trump and is a state
in the bottom 20 in the average adult education level because,:

June 4, 2022

"Presumably, some states will have a mental health exception to their abortion statutes, but there is only a spotty network of psychiatrists to meet potential need. According to a 2015 estimate based on data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, there are 76 percent more psychologists or psychiatrists per capita in blue states than in red states. Roughly 60 percent of counties in the United States — including 80 percent of rural counties — do not have a single psychiatrist practicing there, based on a 2017 report. Most of us are in the Northeast and some counties along the West Coast.

Telepsychiatry and licensing reciprocity laws could allow out-of-state psychiatrists to conduct assessments and thus compensate for their skewed national distribution. This, too, will depend on the restrictiveness of the state in which the woman lives, especially if criminal liability is extended to those advising women or coordinating with the physician who would terminate the pregnancy..."

There are some red states with lots of outbound moves in that list as well. From the looks of it, people are largely moving out of colder states and into warmer states with the exception of some Western states where people are moving there for outdoor opportunities.
Where is people fleeing red states?

Show me a blue state with a high manufacturing base, low cost of living and low crime and I will move to that blue state this week

The level of divisive VBS this thread starts with "Talibanize"? Do you really believe that crap? FFS.

But I think we should dispense with some silly idea that our duopoly of a political system has not been largely broken and increasingly worthless going back to the days of ole womanizing Bill Clinton as President dealing with ironically womanizing Newt Gingrich as Speaker of the House.

Each iteration of the political pendulum going back and forth between Republicans and Democrats for President and control of Congress has been a continual series of one upping the previous lot in doing things the other vehemently opposes. That 'we are right' and 'you are wrong' with us or against us mentality is mature enough that it is asinine, absolute stupidity in the making, to not see red and blue states become further entrenched in being red or blue with only a handful of exceptions district to district then state to state.

You geniuses think Bush 43 was a really a unifier? Or that Obama was? Or that CheetoVonBannedTweeto was? Each President made it more possible for the next, each control over Congress made is possible for the next flip.

Elections have consequences and by the time 'grab em by the *****' Trump got in office he was able to pull off 3 nominations to seated Supreme Court Justices and now you question how we ended up here?

Could have been a better candidate running against Trump but hell no, Hillary was the alternative with all that baggage and all her fake liberalism.

Our divisions are now so deep and so impossible to mend that we will see at least 18-20 states stay solidly Red for at least the next 2-3 generations with another 16-18 states stay solidly blue for the same timeframe if not longer.

Swing districts to a few swing states have always made the difference except now the 'us vs. them' mentality ironically places the onus on independents and moderates that cannot stand party extremism anymore than party extremism can stand anyone else.

We did this, entirely, because we allowed two front running parties to get so out of control... so 50% + 1... we can see not just state to state divisions but eventually we will see entire economic models established around ideological lines. Oh wait, we are doing that already too.

Wake the **** up people, and quit pretending one party is all noble and the other is the ass crack of politics. Turns out party politics, ideological extremism, made both of these establishments the ass cracks of society.

Truth be told, both Clinton and Obama sought to work across the aisle. Clinton, for better or worse, was fairly successful in passing basically Republican laws. Obama, on the other hand, was rebuffed as a political strategy, to defeat him and the Democrats. Nothing exhibited this more clearly than McConnell taking two Supreme Court seats that should have gone to Democrats.

Other than the hysterical overreaction by the right, Clinton would have been a reasonable president. Most American voters thought so, but the electoral college had other ideas.

So now the GOP, exploiting gerrymandering, the set-up of the senate and the electoral college are delivering to America a right-wing or burn-it-to-the-ground philosophy.

Look around Roe. It's a fairly decent compromise. It gives women the right to chose abortions but allows states to curtail that right to such a degree that it barely exists in their states..

But that wasn't good enough for the right-wing. They have to have it all.

So here we are.

Now the party

Generally blue states have more knowledge industry jobs. Minnesota is affordable and safe.

Conservatives on another thread are defending a commencement speaker for condemning gays because it's his religious beliefs.

Red states want to eliminate a woman's right to control her own body.

The comparison to the Taliban is hard to miss.

See you're not being honest in either of those two descriptions, of what was said or what "red states" want. You'd don't WANT to be honest because it destroys the narrative you've been told to hold.

The Republicans and the Taliban oppose women and gays for religious reasons. How is pointing that out dishonest?

Generally blue states have more knowledge industry jobs. Minnesota is affordable and safe.

I go by the job boards in my industry, Minnesota is not too bad, but the rest of the blue states is not.

When I was living out west screwing around in Wyoming, Idaho and in South West Colorado ( not many industrial manufacturing jobs, just coal and oil ) my goal was to settle down in Washington state but then by talking to head hunters and looking at the job boards they were only paying around $25 to $35 an hour for what I do, I can make the same in the south east, And cheaper cost of living.

Generally blue states have more knowledge industry jobs. Minnesota is affordable and safe.

Maybe not so safe.

Many of the more than 1,500 businesses in Minneapolis and St. Paul damaged during last year's riots following George Floyd's killing remain closed, while others are struggling to stay open. Along one especially hard-hit area, only 21 percent of the most damaged properties are back in business, according to the Star Tribune.

Gov. Tim Walz’s administration estimated that the damage in the Twin Cities and surrounding suburbs would total more than $500 million, making it the second-costliest civil disturbance in U.S. history.
