Once again she shows what her view of socialism is and it all starts with the wealth being distributed to her.

She did a photo op with construction workers to show she is a champion the poor.. all while wearing a $1990 Gabriela Hearst blazer, $890 Gabriela Hearst pants and $625 Monolo Blahnik shoes.

If you remember she also claimed in the past working class girl from the Bronx yet she mostly grew up in wealthy Westchester County. She actually grew up middle class and her architect father sent her to Boston University to study economics and international relations.

It's claimed that she also showed her support for the working class when was a barmaid and took all $500 of the tips after a holiday night at the bar, leaving the waitresses with only $50.

The article above has a photo of her and the construction worker and bit more:

Yeah, I know, but the source...... So here is the same photo and another in her own tweet in which she states "The way we make sure ALL work is dignified is by ensuring all people can meet their needs working 40 hours a week." Looks like she is meeting her needs quite well.

Only the elite benefit from socialism. Mao, for example was a billionaire. The Castro Bros have more money than they know what to do with. And the Venezuela dictator is rich beyond belief. All the while the poor schmucks running around their countries are dirt poor. And for the record, the poor dumb leftists here on DP, aren't elites. Yeah, socialism is wonderful.

Conservatives worship rich people and have no problem seeing millionaires and billionaires with planes, gold plated watches, ridiculous houses and so on because it's all "signs of their success". You're criticizing her because you have an agenda. She's not a socialist, she supports Democratic Socialism. If you're trying to pretend that most of Europe is the same as USSR style Stalinist socialism, you're not being honest. Nothing about it means there won't be rich and poor or that the state owns everything.

So really, when's the last time you've criticized a Republican for wearing nice clothes? Be specific.

I got to say I'm impressed Ocasio-Cortez, bidding to represent just one of 435 districts has gotten so into the heads of right wingers that they'd try to figure out how much her outfit costs in a bid to discredit her. Good job!

Ask not what your country can do for you, but why all politicians have more money than you.

If the person, regardless of political position, makes a point of campaigning on 'helping the poor, downtrodden worker' and dresses in clothing that costs more than what that working person nets in a month, or someone who claims all sorts of damage to the environment, but has a huge, flue consuming vehicle or home.

They have seriously damaged their creditability. So this young lady who supposedly is all about the poor working man, doesn't feel she needs to dress at the same level, but you don't see a conflict there?

So the voter should go for the other rich guy that says "**** the poor and middle class, and **** workers' rights, I got mine, work harder you god damn takers!"? How does that make sense? Are you saying everyone left of far right libertarian should be a pauper? What does that have to do with strong worker rights, social safety net and healthcare?

When's the last time you've criticized a Republican for being rich? Keep in mind most congressmen and senators are millionaires.

Seriously, I haven't seen a hissy fit this bad from the right since Hillary. They must really be worried about her and are grabbing at anything they can get because they can't beat her on policy.

I don't care what other people earn. Note the word earn. I don't care what other people's political standings are.

But when you are trying to appeal to a certain group, oh, let's say the working class? Why would wear clothing that, as I said previously, costs more than they take home in a month?

If a Republican was promoting the same 'only work 40 hours, free education, free health care etc,' and dressed the same way, I would make the same comments.

While I think Ocasio is way off balance in regards to what is realistic in life, and who is to pay for it, she is not dressing to play to the right crowd.

And Infowars, the "they're making the frogs gay" people, are who you trust to tell the truth so you know who to criticize? If she makes it into Congress she'll be one of the poorest people on capital hill. If she is wearing very expensive clothes it may not be the best idea, but it doesn't de-legitimize her message at all. America has the most expensive healthcare system in the world with one of the worst levels of coverage and outcomes among modern western nations. UHC costs LESS than our current system and statistically provides better outcomes. Workers rights also has nothing to do with the clothing of the person advocating for them. You've let yourself get distracted from her actual message to clothing by people with an obvious agenda.

Ask yourself, why exactly is the right losing their minds about this woman? If they weren't terrified of her and her message they'd just ignore it.

Why do you make assumptions about who I 'trust'? I know the best way to dehumanize someone is to attempt to make them feel small and unsure of themselves, but you really need to learn your mark if you're going to try and do that.

Now, back to the actual subject, shall we?

One of the poorest people on Capital Hill? Care to support that statement? And in comparison to the people she is representing, what will her income percentage be? Benefits? Life-long benefits? My personal beliefs, no representative of the people should be earning more than the people they represent, regardless of political lean. Obviously, that is a futile battle, but I would like to see it some day.

American has the most screwed up health PAYMENT system. The quality of care exceeds most other countries, but insurance companies have wheedled bribed and bought their way into the healthCARE system. Insurance companies need to be taken down as a the method of payment that they are. UHC is the exact same situation of Cluster F but exchanging insurance companies for the government.

Worker's rights. Exactly what worker's rights are being violated? That they are expected to work 40 hours? Or that they actually have to do something to earn their pay? What possible 'right' is not currently covered by FDoL or SDoL laws?

No, I have not been distracted from her message. I disagreed with her message from the get go, as I believe that to succeed in this world, one must actually apply themselves, provide a product or service to earn their income, help others who cannot help themselves, and feed the family cat. She believes others should provide for people regardless of their contribution to the societal pool, and that things should be 'free', without an understanding as to the limitations of noblesse oblige.

I believe you are using excessive drama to say the right is loosing their minds about her, or that they are terrified. You are putting too much weight on perceived emotion, when it's more along the lines of entertainment.

Cortez is as dumb as a bucket of bricks.

Funny she should mention the 40 hour work week. In order to make Obamacare work, Obama wanted to cut the work week to 30 hours,

You took Infowars' word for it at face value and are now basing your opinions off that. So yes, I would call that trust. When you can even prove that's actually what those clothes cost you'll have some credibility.

A few points:
UHC
- Quality of care is NOT anywhere near the best. It also doesn't help that tens of millions of Americans have NO HEALTHCARE AT ALL, so that doesn't help the numbers. (Ranked #36 in healthcare outcomes by WHO)
- You have no idea what you're talking about with UHC. Germany has UHC and it still has health insurance companies. You pick your own insurance company then you pick your own doctor. You can also opt-out and go private if you don't want to be in the public system. It's half the cost per capita and provides better outcomes. What the **** does this have to do with her and her clothes?
- No it's not the same cluster****. You're ignoring our problems by pretending they're normal.

You can't really argue against her politics so you attack her clothing. How ridiculously catty of you. I haven't seen you say a god damn word about the clothing of Republicans. This is purely about competing ideologies for you and you're terrified of her message so you attack petty things because you know your arguments are unconvincing.

You are using Infowars as a source?

I think that really says all that needs saying about your claims.

If the person, regardless of political position, makes a point of campaigning on 'helping the poor, downtrodden worker' and dresses in clothing that costs more than what that working person nets in a month, or someone who claims all sorts of damage to the environment, but has a huge, flue consuming vehicle or home.

That's pretty funny, because the man in the WH is proudly and ostentatiously wealthy - brags about it all the time - and he campaigned on being a champion for the common man. This standard you're applying apparently only works for liberals.

They have seriously damaged their creditability. So this young lady who supposedly is all about the poor working man, doesn't feel she needs to dress at the same level, but you don't see a conflict there?

OK, then let's apply this standard across the board, in which case about 80-90% of Congress can only legitimately speak for the wealthy donor class. From my own state, my two Senators are Lamar! and Corker both worth comfortably north of $20 million.

Cortez is as dumb as a bucket of bricks.

Funny she should mention the 40 hour work week. In order to make Obamacare work, Obama wanted to cut the work week to 30 hours,

No he didn't, and it's funny you make a dumb claim while calling her dumb.

The 30 hours applied to eligibility for health care, that those working at least 30 hours had to be covered, or employers paid a penalty. The standard work week would stay at 40 hours for all other purposes.

Your source is Infowars, which has ZERO credibility.

Yeah, that's why I put what I did in there, recognizing that some lib would automatically judge the source so I will add this tidbit for you: If the source directly cites, then the source is irrelevant as long as the cite can be verified independently. So, take off the binders and prove that what is cited in the article is false, otherwise you have zero creds.

The ALWAYS result(s) of socialism:

Why don't you post some scary images of the rot and decay of 'socialist' Europe? I was in Switzerland last year - horrible stuff....

Those images are just preaching to the converted, presumably those who haven't traveled or even viewed images of the "socialist" hellholes all over the industrialized world.
