We must honor our military, lets not forget that.A lot of angry, unhinged types of replies on this thread. Over a parade, no less.
Be happy.
That said, no, I don't think the parade is necessary BUT every president has the authority to organize and participate in events celebrating national milestones. Such as the U.S. Army’s 250th anniversary on June 14, 2025, which coincides with his 79th birthday and Flag Day.
The Constitution grants the president broad executive powers, including the ability to direct federal resources for ceremonial events. Don't let the facts rain on your parade.![]()
A convicted felon, who has cheated on all his wives (once with a porn star while Melania was pregnant), who has damaged time honored alliances, who holds intelligence and education in contempt, who admires tyrants, who continues to perpetuate the lie of 2020 election fraud cheating him while never giving evidence, who said "maybe he deserves it" when told his J6 rioters were chanting for Pence to be hung, who has enriched himself obscenely off the presidency, who has gutted social programs and regulatory agencies, and who tomorrow will waste 45 million in taxpayer dollars to celebrate himself while the nation and the world are in turmoil. The people that mock Trump, and try to stop MAGA are the patriots..
No, Trump concocted the whole parade. It was apparently his idea after seeing one in France.Looks like you have fallen for the media's fake news narrative of this parade being about Trump.
It has never been about Trump. Trump has never said the parade was about him. This whole "Trump parade" is something concocted by the Trump haters.
Protesters opposing US Army parade occupy Capitol Hill steps
Mostly peaceful protestors breaking though a barrier fence on Capitol Hill. How ironic.
"Footage captured the moment a group of protesters, including veterans, broke through the barrier fencing on Capitol Hill and occupied its steps during a demonstration against the upcoming U.S. Army parade."
Flashback to January 6th?Protesters opposing US Army parade occupy Capitol Hill steps

The problem with Gavin is he doesn't think.
Ah, you got the point.Flashback to January 6th?
Not yet. The parade isn't until tomorrow. Hopefully it won't come to that.Nahhh. No comparison. The scale is off by orders of magnitude.
They will have lots of tanks to break up any agitators.. regardless of if they are for real or merely anticipated.Ah, you got the point.

It is funny and over some peoples' heads.Kind of funny that some countries have actual kings....

We don't send foreign aid to Canada. Thanks for the estimate.
We'll take it out of U.S. foreign aid to Canada.
You didn't have to tell him that.We don't send foreign aid to Canada.
What kind of nonsense are you babbling?
The only consistency to the MAGA crowd is whatever Trump says, they are for. It is often nonsensical and contradictory, because Trump is nonsensical and contradictory. These people have no principals or coherent political philosophy, because Trump has no principals or political philosophy. The MAGA crowd have largely checked their brains at "will call"..... but sadly, they forgot where they left them.I love that the same people who were defending the DOGE debacle are defending wasting money on this parade nonsense.![]()
I think you don't comprehend the problem with this. We don't do this kind of thing in America. American power is rooted in the notion that we walk softly, but carry a big stick. We choose diplomacy over displays of power. A military parade is NOT walking softly. We do not do this kind of thing in this country*. It is un-American; it is beneath us. I am sorry you did not learn that in school, or you would understand.A lot of angry, unhinged types of replies on this thread. Over a parade, no less.

Because you have the authority does not mean you use the power. Because you can do something, does not mean you do do something. Adults understand this distinction; children do not. Our POTUS is a child. That said, no, I don't think the parade is necessary BUT every president has the authority to organize and participate in events celebrating national milestones. Too bad you never learned to appreciate a military parade. The only consistency to the MAGA crowd is whatever Trump says, they are for. * - well, we never did until we lost our soul. America is not the great country of the 20th century, and this takes us in the wrong direction.

No. It isn't dictatorial or anathema.Regardless why do we need a parade akin to a dictatorial regime?
That is anathema to our national identity.
