That said, no, I don't think the parade is necessary BUT every president has the authority to organize and participate in events celebrating national milestones. Such as the U.S. Army’s 250th anniversary on June 14, 2025, which coincides with his 79th birthday and Flag Day.

The Constitution grants the president broad executive powers, including the ability to direct federal resources for ceremonial events. Don't let the facts rain on your parade. ;)

A convicted felon, who has cheated on all his wives (once with a porn star while Melania was pregnant), who has damaged time honored alliances, who holds intelligence and education in contempt, who admires tyrants, who continues to perpetuate the lie of 2020 election fraud cheating him while never giving evidence, who said "maybe he deserves it" when told his J6 rioters were chanting for Pence to be hung, who has enriched himself obscenely off the presidency, who has gutted social programs and regulatory agencies, and who tomorrow will waste 45 million in taxpayer dollars to celebrate himself while the nation and the world are in turmoil.

And I'm supposed to be hurt because non-Americans hold him in contempt? Nah.

The only consistency to the MAGA crowd is whatever Trump says, they are for. It is often nonsensical and contradictory, because Trump is nonsensical and contradictory. These people have no principals or coherent political philosophy, because Trump has no principals or political philosophy. The MAGA crowd have largely checked their brains at "will call"..... but sadly, they forgot where they left them.

I think you don't comprehend the problem with this. We don't do this kind of thing in America. American power is rooted in the notion that we walk softly, but carry a big stick. We choose diplomacy over displays of power. A military parade is NOT walking softly. We do not do this kind of thing in this country*. It is un-American; it is beneath us. I am sorry you did not learn that in school, or you would understand.

* - well, we never did until we lost our soul. America is not the great country of the 20th century, and this takes us in the wrong direction.

Because you have the authority does not mean you use the power. Because you can do something, does not mean you do do something. Adults understand this distinction; children do not. Our POTUS is a child.

No. It isn't dictatorial or anathema.

The US has ALWAYS celebrated their military and their veterans. Every parade I've been to has had military in it. This one is a BIG one...the 250th Anniversary of the US Army.

Not only is there nothing wrong with it...it's a GOOD THING.
