You mentioned a 'bunch of leather guys on a float' in one of your first posts about the parades. If you were truly NOT intolerant, you wouldn't care if a porn star was on a float looking sexy. And you're the one programmed by the exact dogma that you pretend to be against. You seem very intolerant of others' sexual practices. They have every right to march in a parade as you. If they are advocating mutilation through piercings, tattoos, branding, scarification and showing off what is beautiful to THEM, why would that be considered 'inappropriate'?? As long as they aren't forcing people to view their prince albert, and even then, as long as they didnt' FORCE It, I could care less. More power to them for subscribing to a subculture that satisfies them. Personally I LOVE to see wild tattoos and piercings. I have quite a few myself.

I don't feel that it is MY place to forbid ANYONE from marching in a gay parade. ESPECIALLY when it is a parade who's very reason is to celebrate cultural diversity. It's not about who's the most 'politically correct' it's about difference.

No one even remotely suggested porn stars be banned from public places. Only that they not be made the center of attraction at a community event. Then you failed to define what a 'shockfest' was. If it's ONLY porn stars I would object too. It isn't so why would you suggest that any part of it be 'banned'?

And it is clear to me that you are grasping at straws. Why try so hard to pick a fight when each and every time you just look more and more stupid? I hold to my original stance no matter how you try to revise it...if the pride marches are going to be reduced to porn stars simulating sex acts in public, ban the pride marches OR...because I am a rational and compromising man, hand over organization of the march to a respectable community service group.

It's hypocritical if you claim you are there to celebrate the gay community and embrace diversity in general and then say you want to BAN porn stars from being in the parade. It fits the very definition of hypocrisy.

But from a personal perspective, I don't see anything wrong with nude beaches or whole parks that are reserved for public nudity. There's nothing wrong with a nude body. Yet religious people sometimes want ALL nudity to be illegal, whether you're in a nude area or not.

Yeah, you WOULD. Just so you can get a look at female BREASTS! And I hate to tell you, but the nude beaches that already exist ARE public beaches. Meaning that ANYONE can go there. They are designated as 'nude' when you enter so it is AYOR if you go there. Black Beach near LA has been a nude beach for a very long time -- probably 50 years or more. SF has one too. Children are allowed as well and I've seen them there nude and having fun with their nude parents as well.

When I lived in Finland as a child, we were there during the summer and ALL The children went around naked. But not the AMERICAN children, because my parents happened to be 'christian' and thought it was innappropriate, and because my mind had already been polluted with christian dogma I viewed the nude body the same way and would have been embarrassed to do such a thing, and my sister as well. But the other kids thought NOTHING of it. Why? Because America has a warped view on nudity and sexuality and they repress it openly. Not true in European nations.
