I agree - almost. It is "a" root, not "the" root. Iow, one of many roots of evil.

We used to use it to feed the poor.

Ya know, propagandists like you tell everybody this and when I had to buy food for the Church feeds I had to pay for it myself, only to have you turn around and whine about me not feeding the poor, after having refused to give us a donation and telling everybody else not to support us.

If you don't want to donate, dont, but don't tell lies about us wasting your donations. You have us confused with Washington DC.

These mega churches that have “pastors” flying around in their own personal jets aren’t “feeding the poor”.


Want to feed the poor…go to your community and find a local soup kitchen and donate directly there - time and food.

Don’t send money to some “pastor” off tv, social media, etc.


These are “churches” they are scammers.
 
Being from the UK these Mega Churches and ultra rich pastors always amaze me.
UK churches are run on a shoestring budget and being part of the church is not going to make you rich.

The idea of any church member having a jet or a rolls royce is just insane as that money could be used to repair the often hundreds of years old building they have or actually helping the local community.

Any Church that has a private jet is not a propper church and should lose it's tax free status as there is zero reason a pastor needs a private jet.

I calI bulllshit on you. I WAS the soup kitchen. And what do you think the soup kitchen is? A church. For every one of those mega church guys there are thousands of tiny community churches - like us. And we have to pay for your bigotry.

If local community churches ARE the soup kitchen, then they will get donations from their local communities.

No one needs to send money to a talking head on tv/internet.

These mega churches are corrupt and disgusting.

What did I say? I said I paid for the food myself. Your fantasy world doesn't butt up with real life. If I was to imitate your LWNJ screed I'd say " you hate the poor".

Not really, but the difference is minor. We're thinking along the same lines.

"The" source means the only source.
"A" source means one of many sources.

Loving money is not the only source of evil, there are others (e.g. lust, envy, hatred, etc. etc.) - that was my only point.
