Matthew 19:24 famously says “it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God” – but they never said anything about private jets, right?

This might be dated but it is a continuation of my post in SE about supposedly religious 'pastors' being con men & charlatans. Each of these planes cost their 'flocks' over a $1M each.

I think Copeland has 3 jets. Shame on him.

Osteen has an ex passenger plane that runs $86 million. What happened to the intelligence of the flock?

These are word/faith people for the most part. Any resemblance to Christianity is purely coincidental.

My Archbishop flies in coach, even when he flies overseas.

But, weekend after weekend, you’ll see the faithful turn up to their mega churches, many of whom probably work more than one job, being paid peanuts, still giving money to these worthless assholes… Whilst also voting for republicans politicians who promise to make their situations even worse.

You can’t fix stupid.

Especially with Evangelicals.

Just had too drag politics into it, didn't you?

The two things are deeply intertwined.

Sorry that’s troubling for you.

But people dumb enough to give money to fake Christian’s like these, are also dumb enough to vote against their own interests and they do, every single election.

And I doubt that they ride public transportation so that they can minister to the needy.

That bishop who was recently robbed of his jewels inside his church (!) also has a Royce-Rolls.

In all fairness, however, some critics of religious hypocrisy ask: Why do the Popes live in such luxury? Why not sell the Vatican and use the money to help the poor and needy? These critics claim the Pope could live in one of Rome's many churches.

It's not troubling for me, its astonishing that the left can project this on to everybody else with such ease and lack of self awareness.

Dunno. But I can see where their 'contributions' went.

I was raised Catholic & was even an altar boy for a time. But on Sundays the priest's sermon was only about money. My parents were not rich but they dropped their tithing envelopes into that wicker basket every Sunday AM. I never believed in any of the nonsense I was taught.

Because the Vatican doesn't belong to any one person.

What does the Left have to do with fake religion? Spell it out. References?

I was exposed to the Episcopal Church early. Sunday school and activities at the church, we lived down the street. They enrolled me in catechism classes and somewhere before I finished, I left. After the sermon and just before they passed the plate, the Reverend would state, “it is more blessed to give than to receive.”

Give to support organizations that bilk the poor.

You tell me. They blame everything on Evangelicals, there's no reason why.

That's part of the liturgy, its actually in the prayer book. It lets you know what happens next.

Personally, I do not care if the Pope lives in the Vatican.

But some people ask whether it would be more spiritual if the Pope lived an austere life, as Jesus did.

Copeland and Duplantis "defend" their private jets (warning: this is NOT Christianity):

This is one of the better videos explaining the evils of the Word of Faith / Prosperity Gospel movement, of which Kenneth Copeland, Jesse Duplantis, Joel Osteen, Benny Hinn, Creflo Dollar, and so many other false preachers are part:

“Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves." Mt 7:15

Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.’ Mt 7:21ff

"For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will show great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the elect. Behold, I have told you in advance. Mt 24:24f

I loved how this reporter challenged Copeland, asking him about his jet(s) and lavish lifestyle.

Pay close attention to his facial expressions...
