‘We’re citizens!’: Oklahoma City family traumatized after ICE raids home, but they weren’t suspects

The warrant had names listed. They knew the minute they went in they had the wrong family and still proceeded to violate this family’s rights. She told them they had JUST MOVED IN
Yes, the names were different than o[n the warrant but that doesn't mean that the warrant was invalid. A search warrant is for a place so law enforcement has the right to search the place for the person or persons that may be named in the warrant. If the named person or persons aren't present that doesn't mean that the person that is present isn't harboring them and that is why the "search" is included in the warrant.

No. The mere existence of a warrant does not mean a good investigation was done. Finding that a suspect might have lived at an address within the last 10 years or even the last year is not itself "an investigation" worthy of a warrant.
And you know that's the way the warrant was obtained? Please, fill in the blanks for us because I sure haven't seen that part of the equation reported yet.

Since they didn't know that the people they had a warrant for didn't live there, something that should be very easy info to obtain if you are truly investigating a situation, then that in itself is evidence of their either incompetence in investigating, negligence, or pure lack of caring.

OK. So you know the warrant was complete bullshit because.....uhhhh....because.....well...because Rachael had the story on her show tonight and Rachael is the savior of the American people and she's neverr wrong and PLEASE let this be true because so much of the other bullshit we believe has turned out to be bullshit and this one HAS to be true because I'm freaking out!!!

Is that about the way this is all working for you so far?
I think that we can easily determine that the warrant was bullshit because innocent people had their house raided and property seized by the Government.

So Trump's ICE thugs raided a house of citizens because they didn't appear to know that the current residents were not their targets.

And now Trump wants to put the military onto our streets? **** this fascist orange clown.
Why is this news? Happens all the time. The left cheers when someone they dislike gets 'swatted' yet this account makes them outraged. LMAO. 👌

MAGA doesn't care.

True. They really don't. They're completely fine with collateral damage, just as long as they are not the damage. That's what's so infuriating about MAGA at times. They ask for sacrifices of others they know damn well they wouldn't tolerate. If it was they that got detained for hours in an airport holding area by CBP, or if it were they that got swept up in some raid, they'd be crying like little bitches.

Who on the left cheers someone getting swatted?

That is an obvious mistake, but better verification is needed before law enforcement does this stuff.

Who the hell is Racheal? She is not a figure in anything that I have ever watched

I live in NW OKC this occurred here in my relatuve back yard and is a big deal locally. So no, your silly false accusational rant of a post is absolutely not "about the way it is working out for [me]so far."

Again...
Let us all know when you are able to intelligently and reasonably discuss how that can be avoided whenever, wherever, and however possible.

Thank you.

The fact that the person or persons identified on the warrant were no longer living at the given address, in this particular set of circumstances, does not mean that the warrant was invalid. Furthermore, we don't even know what the warrant was for because that wasn't reported. This appears to have been a criminal warrant, not merely something for detaining an illegal alien. There also seems to have been a search of the residence which indicates that they were looking for some THING, not just for "someone".

What seems to be happening here is that some local news outlet latched onto a human interest story, only has one side of the story, and then ran with the story in a way that makes it look like the federal government is terrorizing innocent people for no reason whatsoever....and a whole mess of you are buying that because it validates your fears. All I'm suggesting is that there are a LOT of indications that this story appears to be seriously incomplete and that a prudent person might want to hold off on their full blown freakout until they can fill in some of those blanks with something other than speculation.

It's okay to type "I was wrong" instead. Saves time, too.

This is unfortunate, but you forgot to tell us why this mistake was made? Was it corrected when they realized there was a mistake made? The nation is overrun with millions of immigrants who illegally entered the country and that is a felony, a crime and one that in many cases can end in immediate deportation even without what many would claim was lack of due process, but that's the law.
Under certain circumstances, including being apprehended near the border and within a short timeframe after entering the country, undocumented immigrants can be subject to expedited removal. This process allows for immediate deportation without a formal court hearing.
  • Individuals who already have a removal order in place, such as those who missed a court date or were previously found deportable, may not be granted a new hearing before being deported.

  • Asylum seekers must make a formal request for asylum within the first year they are in the country.
These folks were all American citizens. Their home was destroyed, all their cash taken, not even a business card from anyone who raided them and at the time of this reporting, the Marshals claimed they weren't there, the FBI claimed they had nothing to do with it and DHS refused to answer anyone's questions.

This is the new land of Donald Trump. This could have happened in your house or mine. With no one to hold responsible.

Nope.

It just means that the law enforcement sucks at their job.

Incompetent lazy boobs that easily violate the rights of innocent people.

And to excuse such nonsense will only make it worse… not better.

Hail Trump, Long live the 4th Reich.

Why did they not have someone watching the house to ensure their suspects didn't leave, since they knew they were getting a search warrant for the house? Either they weren't doing due diligence by actually taking care to watch the house or they didn't care, and used it as an excuse.

Their carelessness is a major part of the problem. That example I gave earlier is an example of law enforcement screwing up, it seriously affecting someone's life, and the LEO needing to be held accountable for being too lazy to ensure the investigation is properly done was to point out how LE needs to be held to high standards. The same applies here.

exactly.....and apparently the other people had been gone more than one month.

It's been out for a day and no one from the government is pushing back against what has been reported.

Expect many more ****ups like this one.

It was a mistake to seize their electronics, cell phones and money even after knowing they had the wrong family? That seems like more than a mistake.

MAGA doesn't care, as you see in this thread.
Because ICE were going after brown people, its okay to harass US citizens who do not have white skin. No matter if the warrant is valid or not.
