I thought that Washington state was doing pretty good with having the 16th best percentage of high school graduates in the country, and the 11th highest percentage of people with BSs in the country and the 13th highest percentage of people with advanced degrees in the country.

But I see that that absolutely pales beside Florida's record of having the 31st highest percentage of high school graduates, the 31st highest percentage of people with BAs, and the 29th highest percentage of people with advanced degrees.

Maybe you were thinking of Oregon with its miserably 19, 17, and 15 showing.

Except you can get an exemption religious reasons or for almost any reason in some areas. Strangely enough the areas with high exemption rates are the ones being affected.

Based on my research I came to that conclusion as well. There was simply not enough supporting evidence to make that claim believable.

TV news mentioned that of the 50 cases, a portion of them had been vaccinated. If true, that suggests that the measles vaccine may be about as effective as the flu vaccine.

Anyway, it's a mess.

Or they are old and their immunity has worn off. Or the vaccines were improperly handled before they were given. I know either the measles vaccine or the chicken pow vaccines were being drawn yp into syringes and left on counter tops all day long in clinics. The light destroyed the effectiveness of the vaccines and people injected later in the day after the vaccine sat in the light all day did not get a full strength vaccine. I cannot remember if it was chicken pox vaccine or measles vaccine however. The other BIG problem is several parents are not vaccinating their kids now days. I'm old enough that I had measles and chicken pox and mumps.
