How many presidents have told us they would get us out of Afghanistan, at least the last two. Both Obama and Trump said they would but never did as they did not want the kick in the ass they would get for doing so. I have heard on news stories that the Afghan military was made up of men who joined for the money to send to their families, but were never really ready to fight. It showed in the past week. I think the military and the intelligence were giving Trump and Biden the false impression that the Afghan military was ready to take on the Taliban. Anyone with a knowledge of history could look at Afghanistan and Veit Nam and know things were going to be the same, a quick collapse as soon as we were leaving. From what we have heard, the Afghan military gave up almost everywhere without firing a shot. Now you can blame this on trump or Biden, but the real blame should fall on Bush. Instead of staying with it in Afghanistan and then getting out, he started another war in Iraq. To say the least it was a shit show that soon will be over and Biden will take the kick in the ass for it and do it like a man hopefully. Viet Nam actually got going in 1959 and ended in 1973, the longest war we had been in until now. Hopefully we have really learned our lessen this time, since we did not from Veit Nam.

Yes. Trump is the one who negotiated the release from prison of a Taliban Terrorist leader. Trump is the one who met with and negotiated with terrorists. He wanted the photo op so bad, he invited them to Camp David. Needless to say that meeting was canceled. Instead, Pompeo met with the Taliban overseas.

Never in the history of the US has an American president negotiated with terrorists. Biden's hands were tied due to the deal Trump made.
