Yet another reminder of how hateful the political left can be ...

You actually took the time to count? Is there a limit to the number of threads one can post to mock you?
The search function on this site is both fast and easy, and in that way has much in common with making fun of your content-free posts.

Like a true liberal, always pointing their finger at the very thing they do...
Though unlike most liberals she actually has very little to say. Some time run a search and scan her posts. They practically float off the screen.

Dead and dying politicians are just chess pieces for the same political machines they all sold their souls to. Republicans cheer when famous Democrats or socialists die, and then they cry every time anyone left of John McCain admits out loud that the world is better off without one of their odious, far right leaders in it. I wish Republicans could be a little more open and honest about their partisan contempt for life, and that Democrats actually had the spine to step up to the Republicans' level on it.

The fringes of both parties are nutters, but what's different about this is that Ellen Hopkins is a journalist and author who's won a few awards and has written for the NY Times. Is it unreasonable to expect from her what she asked from others when RBG was ill, i.e. some compassion?

Ok, so it turns out Ellen Hopkins is a horrible person. So what?

Its a shitty thing for anyone to say, hoping ill health will sideline a person.

"Trying to maintain the high road...OOOOPS but I failed."

Get well soon Justice Thomas.

Do you know anyone who ever had to retire early due to health reasons? Did they find it enjoyable?
He's 73. That's not an early retirement. I too hope he takes this health scare as an opportunity to reflect and decides to retire and enjoy his many remaining years in comfort. He'll be better for it, and so will the entire country.

And by the way, the statement by the woman in the OP could easily be interpreted with that same inoffensive sentiment. Or, if someone is desperate to score partisan political points, they might try to twist it into a wish for terrible suffering. Ellen Hopkins should have been more specific I suppose.

From the thread we get to learn about others here who are just like her.

This thread? This thread with a dozen or so nobodies posting anonymously? Again, so what?

Most people, not all people. Putin, for example, is a great exception. I sincerely hope that ill health sidelines him, up to and including "ill health" caused by high velocity lead or an anthropomorphic case of anthrax.

She didn't say she hoped he would get better and then decide to retire. She said she hoped he become sick enough such that his health forced (her exact words) him to retire. Realizing this you're welcome to defend this ghoul if you like, but it says far more about you than me.

We're having a discussion, and you're welcome to participate, or not. Why you come here to say "so what?" is anyone's guess, but it sure seems like you're wasting your time. Why do that?

How dull must someone's day be to post repeatedly in a thread that they think the thread is a waste of time?

I am having a discussion. I'm asking you to tell us why we should care what one obscure idiot with a Twitter account thinks. That's what "so what" means in this case.

So far, all you've given me appears to be that a couple other random anonymous people agree with her. Again, so what? The world is full of a-holes. Why should we care about these? What do the words of these random a-holes tell us about what or how "the left" thinks (and in particular, in any sense that is different from what or how the right thinks).

In order to survive this thread without crippling cognitive dissonance you're gonna hafta overlook all the death threats that cons have made against Dems. I know, you'll obfuscate by saying those weren't from politicians or journalists. But they still happen. Often.
Even if your claim were true, what bearing does their behavior have to do with the OP, who is questioning the behavior of progressives? It's a pretty lame deflection from my perspective.

Since you seem to be in disagreement can you tell us what the right has done that justifies people on the left not wishing a sitting conservative judge a full and healthy recovery?

OK.
There are pretty much zero instances where I will say "I hope this person gets ill" or "I hope this person dies". I moved past that although back in the day I had far worse thoughts than that.

Its bad karma. I wish pootin to be free of suffering, may all creatures be free of suffering!

Dont forget that your own nation starts more unnecessary "wars" than anyplace else on earth in recent history.

We didn't start the Iraq War, or the one in Afghanistan, so which wars are you talking about?

I looked up this Elle Hopkins person and there is no reason to think she represents anyone but herself

Willful stupidity is something I have no time for. You enjoy it though.

And I answered your question in post 83.

What it tells us about many on the left is that they care more about political purity then they do the well being of another human being. The OP is yet another expression of a very well tested axiom: conservatives think liberals are people with bad ideas. Liberals think conservatives are bad people with ideas.

You call that hateful?
