WOW! Dems Take SHOCK LEAD in Races NO ONE EXPECTED

California Democrats appear to have flipped 3 House seats while keeping all their incumbents. That will mean the House Republicans will have a very slim 217 to 215 majority in January. Nothing will get done knowing Republicans

Always a tight race.
Duarte(R) beat Gray(D) by a couple hundred in 2022.
Hopefully, that result will be reversed this time around.
 
Too bad. I was hoping Trump would really show people his agenda in action. Hope he still will. Time for voters to learn it the hard way (if they can learn anything).

Only took them 3 weeks to count 200,000 ballots. That's impressive.

That;s about 10,000 ballots per day.
Counting mail-in ballots takes time.
Gotta check postmarks, signatures etc.
If the MAGA desires for paper ballots and a hand count were implemented, this is how long election results would take.

Weird. Most other states managed to count 99% do it within a day or two.

Not necessarily buying that claim. What I am seeing is the AP has called 220 House seats called for the republicans and and 214 called for democrats. That means just one seat still up for grabs. The closest the democrats can get is 5 seats.

Washington state has all mail-in voting. Votes are returned either by U.S. Mail or in drop boxes from 3 weeks before election day or on election day (ballots are counted if the postmark is election day or earlier). In my county, ballots, after being verified, are counted and the results transferred, electronically, to a computer which is locked until 8 p.m. election night. By then, a huge amount of vote numbers are available and often enough to be able to call the election in the county. I don't see why this can't be done throughout the country.

Gaetz has resigned his seat and 2 House members are leaving to be in the Trump administration that leaves 217 and the latest flip in California makes 215 for the Dems in Jan.

Red states would probably expect the ballots to be there by Election Day and not a month later.
 
It's more difficult to get election worker volunteers when deranged members of the public who refuse to accept election results when they lose threaten violence aimed at election workers.

People who believe the news accept election results.

Those who believe in rumor are too emotional to accept reality.

Trump has picked several Congress critters to serve in the Executive. Does that give Dems a temporary lead? My understanding is replacements aren't appointed like they are in the Senate , special elections must be called,

I would not count your chickens before they actually hatch. Gaetz can reclaim his House seat and the others will almost certainly be replaced by republicans. Democrats really only have a shot at one more seat then the 214 they now have.

Considering how much Republicans bitch and moan when they lose I can't blame counters for making sure they do everything slowly and by the book.

Yep, until the end the race is stil open.
The races are close and either side could have a final surge.
 
And if a few more principled conservatives leave their party, the House WILL indeed flip.
Trump may want to tread a little more carefully because a few more love letters about ripping up the Constitution and putting an end to democracy may be more than some of these conservatives can bear.

To these people I say, "Come on over, we have much more in common than you think, and we're not hell bent on fealty to dictators. Let's talk."

Again that is wrong. Gaetz wrote that he would not take the oath for a new term. The ethics investigation would also be reopened and the report might be released too.

It’s complicated.

In his resignation letter, read by the clerk on the House floor, Gaetz wrote: “I do not intend to take the oath of office for the same office in the 119th Congress.” He wrote the same sentence in a letter sent to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, dated Nov. 13 and entered it into the Congressional Record.

DeSantis had to be notified because House vacancies are filled by special election as stated in Article I, Section 2 of the Constitution: “When vacancies happen in the Representation from any State, the Executive Authority thereof shall issue Writs of Election to fill such Vacancies.”

But a special election has not been organized or held yet.

MAGAs have spent 4 years denying the 2020 election and this is long after all votes were counted and long after all lawsuits were disposed of. This is the stuff of derangement.

Democrats btw also flipped 3 Republican seats on Long Island on the other side of the country.

This is when Republicans in the House can't agree on the time of day.

And now the squeeze is on for 2026.
