Some of them are really small but they seem really cute. I suppose if they have heat and AC and a bathroom it would be fun. Dont expect to raise a family in one though.

Nope. I need room to stretch out. Hell I need a room just for my musical instruments and another just for the broken stuff I’m in the middle of fixing and the various other projects I’m working on.

In addition- sure great man cave/reloading room... ;)

It looks like someone got carried away with their garden shed. I already have one; it's solar powered.

lol...I tried living in a one bedroom condo once. That was more than enough tiny-house living for one lifetime.

I would imagine if you buy land and build a tiny house on it at first, you could always expand later

Half of these are TRAILERS, so if you're looking for a trailer, you can do much better size wise.
And if you're going to spend 15 thousand, go ahead and spend double that and get a real house on cheapoldhouses.com .
Be careful, cheapoldhouses dot com is addictive!

If you have 2 people living in one they better sure like each other. I think it would fun to live in one for a short time for a vacation, but not as a real home.

I will give it a look.

I actually hope to find a small inexpensive house to buy for retirement.

"Tiny Houses" are not really new. They were called all sorts of things back in the day. Cottages, bungalows, bachelor homes, etc..

The goal is to find a place I can afford to buy outright, outside a municipality, but close enough to have access to power and water without the local tax burden.

But I am not interested in most of the kinds of tiny "Tiny" homes like some shown. I just don't need a "large" home with all the maintenance expenses, and excess space.

Partner can have a garden sin bin like that if he insists .Here we call it a shed where men can feel guilty with friends if they have any . Animals as well .

But I want 15 feet high ceilings , my minimum 30x30 sitting room and a large study and work room which automatically electrocutes anybody trying to come in without the entry code -- which is changed daily .

Why would you expect to have power and water without paying any taxes? I suppose you could dig a well and use solar.

Perhaps as a guest house, but certainly not as my main residence. My dream kitchen would take up more room than one of these little one-bedroom cottages affords.

Hell if you have 2 people living in a 3000 sqft home you better be sure they like each other.

We rented a tiny cabin (maybe 20x15 with a loft with a bed) for a few days in Alaska several days. It was fun but every time you turn around the other person is there so I don’t think I could do it even with someone I liked for more than a few days.

I could totally live in a tiny home, if I didn't have kids. I don't actually use much of the house. My kids stayed with my parents for the summer, during which we bought our current house. When we moved in, we literally only used about 1/4 of the house, never went upstairs.

Our new manufactured home is 17’ X 56’ (952 sq. ft. of living space). For the two of us, it offers plenty of space - 2 bedrooms (one with a walk-in closet), two full bathrooms, a laundry room, (small) pantry and a great room (living room, dining room and kitchen open to each other). The idea of living in less than half of that space does not appeal to us at all. I’m in the process of adding a 10’ X 30’ (covered) deck to the front. Next we will be adding a 8’ X 12’ “mud room” to the back (accessible via the laundry room’s back door).

Many so called “tiny homes” are smaller than a decent sized travel trailer or RV but cost more. Our 28’ travel trailer is about 1/4 the size of our house.

Personally I believe these mini homes should be invested in by our government to house our homeless veterans. Probably much less expensive than what our nation spends on them now and they deserve it JMHO

Sounds good

Maybe for battered women with no place to go as well.
