It is just technological advancement. First people used whatever was available. Then we had dildos. Then we had vibrators. And this is merely an obvious (next) step we will have to face sooner or later. Surely some people will have a problem with this. Those people who will find it a problem will not use it, those who do not find it a problem to use it will find that some partners find it problematic. And quite frankly, even today people find it a problem and feel threatened when their partner is using toys. Not everybody, but some for sure. So nothing new under the sun here I think. People will have to figure that out for themselves how this can or can not work in their relation.

What worries me is that people are going to waste time and money about the thought of this and see if this can be stopped by introducing some ridiculous laws for/against this.

Somehow, I immediately thought of the sexbots on Austin Powers. Those gun barrels would be a little concerning.

I'm just not sure I would.

Off topic but relative. I hope the robots are 200% life like. I would rather have people who want sex more than commitment flock to sex robots than to each other.

I have mixed feelings on this.Part of me says this would be no different than a wife with a vibrator or a husband beating off to porn. However porn is just prerecord images that the man will have no physical interaction with and vibrator doesn't have a person's face and body and it doesn't talk to you. As technology gets better and better these sex robots will be more an more lifelike and possible have artificial intelligence.

I dunno. Is a sex robot - even one that looked human - really any different than a vibrator. I mean it's not like she's gonna fall in love with it.
 
I wouldn't have a probelm with it but hope she can at least start helping out around the house too.

A scenario like this is the only one where I might be okay with it. I don't mind my wife masturbating or using sex toys by herself when I'm away on business trips. Or even if she wants to get off and I'm not in the mood. She feels the same way. A sex robot is just a very high-tech sex toy.

But I imagine something like that would be quite expensive. And buying one to use when I'm around and willing to have sex with her pretty regularly signals that there's something wrong with our sex life or our relationship.
 
The question that was not asked: Would you be comfortable with a sex robot?
 
The implication that intimacy isn't a part of sex is the error in the logic here.

Busting a nut in an inanimate object isn't intimacy, it's enhanced masturbation.

On the rare occasion I rub one off I feel kind of ****ty afterward. If I had to rely on an elaborate blow-up doll I might slide into depression. The human element is important to me.
 
as soon as completely realistic sex robots are available for under $100k I am going to buy one. will still see prostitutes, maybe not as much, i dunno.

Yes I wouldnt care at all and would see it no different as any other sex toy. As long as it seemed healthy I wouldnt be concerned, now if she was locking herself in her room and missing work etc LMAO then I'd be worried about her health :)
 
No. If I am not good enough for her...she should find someone/something who/that is.

Of course, if it is a female sex robot and looks exactly like a real, beautiful woman and it was only once in awhile and I could watch...
