for number 1 the second pronunciation i have heard before, seems to be more of a British thing though.

Realtor or Relator?
Safe Deposit Box or Safety Deposit Box?

I use "aunt" pronounced like "ant." I also say "realtor" and "safety deposit box."

What about for theater: "Thee-Ae-Ter or "Thee-tor"
Syrup: "Sur-Up or "Seer-up"

Well, I'm Southern, so all words have a minimum of three syllables, and at least one vowel will be pronounced "long" and drug out for at least 2.5 seconds.... except for a few words and phrases that are chopped VERY short.

Examples of the latter: "Jeet?" "Bout"

Dee-poh
Koo-pahns
Aunt = aint :)
reeeeltor
Syrup = serp

"Jeet yet?" "Nah, pass the serp."

For aunt I say "ant", though I've always suspected that "ont" is the technically correct pronunciation.

Here in Iowa, they call soda "pop", but they pronounce it "paaaaahp". I'm not sure they're even aware of it.
