College sports teams don't fund other teams at the school... Jeez. But the school absolutely relies on their generated revenue.
You watch a lot of the WNBA then? What is your favorite team... favorite player? Who won the Title 10 years ago... go look it up... QUICK!! LOL
Dumbest Bodi quote ever.College sports teams don't fund other teams at the school... Jeez.
This isn't about what the school makes. It is about what the athletes make. Amateur sports have nothing to do with this discussion. But the school absolutely relies on their generated revenue.
Try harder shipmate with a little less gender phobia.
Even more impressive if he is still playing the piano. Zombie Beethoven playing the piano would get my money.Because Beethoven is dead...
They never generated more revenue... You are just making things up. Why? Because the National Teams money comes from the World Cup and the men's World Cup makes 440 million dollars and the women's World Cup makes 30 million dollars. The men do not do as well but they make more for advancing to certain stages of the tournament.Like when the US Women's soccer team generated more revenue than the men and got paid less?
8 minutes was a lot of time to look those up... I bet you have never watched much of a WNBA game much less a whole one... much less for a season.Mercury

Do something that you never do... back up your claim with evidence.Dumbest Bodi quote ever.
It would also make a great Reality Show.Even more impressive if he is still playing the piano. Zombie Beethoven playing the piano would get my money.

United States Women's National Team earns more money from men's World Cup than its previous two women's tournaments | CNN
The United States Women's National Team (USWNT) earned more money from its male equivalent reaching the knockout stages of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar than it did from winning its own tournaments in 2015 and 2019.edition.cnn.com

U.S. Women’s Soccer Games Outearned Men’s Games
In the three years after the U.S. women’s soccer team won the 2015 World Cup, U.S. women’s games generated more total revenue than U.S. men’s games.www.wsj.com
So you won't back up your argument with evidence. I predicted such.Prove it Bodi. I back up my claims when called out whether I am right or wrong..
It is the men that are underpaidProve it Bodi. I back up my claims when called out whether I am right or wrong..
Not everyone is a cut and paste commando like yourself.

There is an example of actual misogyny.
Dunking is a big thing when it comes to what fans want to see. Layups not so much.Men don't give a shit about women's sports and it's a total shame because they have a lot of talent but can't dunk.
Yeah, those WNBA numbers you keep throwing around? They're from 2018.the NBA makes $8 BILLION dollars a year... the WNBA LOSES $10 Million dollars a year.
They are still current... if not worse. I showed they lost 10 million a season and 2022 figures show they lost 12 million.Yeah, those WNBA numbers you keep throwing around? They're from 2018.
I was not getting into all of the factors. I stated an overall premise that is accurate and that you have not refuted. You are free to try and refute it.It shouldn't be surprising, of course, that the financial situation is a teeny bit more complex than you seem to grasp.
They are losing money. That is a fact. The NBA on the other hand makes over 8 billion a year.About half the teams are profitable, while some teams get saddled with corporate expenses unrelated to the team in order to make the owner's books look good. And of course, proclaiming that "the league is losing money!" was, at least in part, an attempt to hold leverage during salary negotiations.
That is what Draymond Green stated in the source that I gave... sorry, way ahead of you.As a result, the WNBA decided to do a round of funding, which was wildly successful. It raised $75 million in its first round, which set its value at $1 billion. That was more than double what was expected.

WNBA raises $75 million in first-ever funding round, valuing entire league and teams at $1 billion
The WNBA raised $75 million from investors. The league called it "the largest-ever capital raise for a women's sports property."www.cnbc.com
That is because it has been declining ever since 2002... it is bound to go up now and then post Covid it makes sense it might go up as people are eager again. As with many other women's sports, viewership is growing. 2022 was its biggest season yet for viewership.
WNBA Delivers Most-Watched Regular Season In 14 Years and Shatters Fan Engagement and On-Court Records - WNBA
NEW YORK, Aug. 17, 2022 – The WNBA finished the 2022 regular season delivering its most-watched regular season in 14 years. Viewership across its national television partners – ABC, CBS, ESPN, and ESPN2 – was up 16 percent over the 2021 season. The league also set new marks for engagements...www.wnba.com
Similarly, March Madness was huge for the women's teams -- the final game in 2022 had 4.85 million viewers, up 18% from the previous year.
Salaries can not go up if very few people care about the games...We should also note that the sport can't expand if salaries are stagnant. Players will either drop out or go elsewhere -- many already play in Europe, where women's pro basketball salaries are much higher. The 2020 boost in pay was critical.
It is not sexist to not support something one does not enjoy watching.Last but not least, women's sports have been neglected or subjected to sexist intent (e.g. women's beach volleyball) for decades, while men's are mature and the audiences saturated. As a result, the NBA isn't likely to see a significant increase in fans, while the WNBA has a huge growth potential.
Not five year old numbersIn other words: Strangling the WNBA today, based on cooked 5-year old numbers
You just couldn't help yourself and had to start tossing out personal insults. Says a lot about you...and a heaping dose of misogyny,
would be like betting against Amazon in 1998 because it hadn't turned a profit yet, and who wants to buy books over the computer anyway?
@Lursa supports your comment about "pantie shots" so either what you said is not misogynist or she has a really strange view on it, as a woman.I will watch ladies golf if I see it, but mainly because so many of them are pretty hot and you can get some nice pantie shots with those short skirts they wear.

Does the WNBA not show women basketball players at the top of their craft? It is not because of chauvinism. It is because people want to see the best at their craft. Why would I watch a local piano player if Beethoven is playing down the road?
huh?Does the WNBA not show women basketball players at the top of their craft?
Do you only watch the men in the Olympics?
huh?
