Shooting of Trayvon Martin - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

What would you call this? Please quit making yourself look bad. It's depressing.

GREAT! The Miami Herald, aka the Democratic Herald, actually has a reporter who witnessed Zimmerman going door to door asking people to watch out for young black males? That's great! What was the dates the Herald reporter heard Zimmerman say that?

Are there names and You Tube videos of those people in the neighborhood saying that? PLEASE DO LINK TO THOSE.

All I've seen is videos and extended quotes of African Americans - with names - 100% saying why you claim is absolute opposite the truth.

Known? are you making that up? you are, aren't you?

Was there a Zimmerman diary discovered documenting all the "KNOWN" times he racially profiled now? Hatuey - spill the diary link and don't keep it to yourself!

I call it "anonymous sources", didn't you chastise a poster the other day over the unkown witness?

This is why reading is our friend: The "Anonymous Source" is called "Teontae Amie" - This reminds me of that time you bragged about having a CLEAR card and then didn't read that it only worked in 4 terminals in the entire US. Neither of which are close to New Jersey.

i think its reasonable to consider that a young black might see it as unwise to be seen running through a strange complex at night. he did say he was "walking fast" , remember.

And if we're fighting and a gun comes into play, there is NO WAY I'm climbing off you. thats just stupid.

It is logical to believe that the gun didn't come into play until the adult male witness leaves to call 911.

At this point, Zimmerman likely gave up on the idea that anyone will come to his rescue in time, forcing him to resort to drastic actions, and took out his gun. Since Martin chose to advance, and not give up, a shooting occurred.

this is obviously speculation, but it sure as heck matches up with the known evidence and human nature.

Personally, I think I would of held my hands up if the person I beat up had a gun pointed at me, but others might react differently.

DUDE! You used the Daily Mail sourcing the Miami Herald YESTERDAY! Stop it. You're making yourself look bad.

It's still racial profiling

Racial profiling is a bunch of bull****. If a neighborhood is being continually robbed by a bunch of African-Americans, being cautious about a bunch of African-Americans is the exact right way to react. All this stuff about racial profiling is a bunch of nonsense, in my opinion.

Someone brave enough to say that.

I said that M knew that Z had a gun. I took your post to mean that this was not true or that it was worthy of skepticism.

the fact that Z claimed that M went for his gun should verify that M knew about the gun.

That is, if we are taking Z's words for a factual account of the night's evnts.

As such, those folks who act like it was perfectly reasonable for M to just get up and walk away are not thinking seriously about what that would mean.
Let's suppose you are a big tough guy, 17 all full of pi** and vinegar.
You have this guy following you, and go tell him what for.
(it is a very bad idea to approach strangers in the dark with bad intentions.)
In the middle of smacking him around, you see he has a gun in his belt. (big pucker factor)
Do you reach for the gun, or make a fast bob and weave retreat in the dark?

It's declared unconstitutional(4th amendment) and not acceptable within law enforcement (GRURFEA). Maybe it's to avoid cops shooting black kids simply because they look suspicious

heroes don't beat cops & girlfriends.

maybe that's why he's a wanna-be.

And unless you've been in situation like Zim's, you don't get to bitch, judge or anything else. Anything else are artificial rules imposed on an impossible situation by people like YOU that were not there and did not face the beast....the beast of death

The only quote I found from Teontae Arnie was this from the Herald:

Miami-Herald said:
“He would circle the block and circle it; it was weird,” said Teontae Amie, 17. “If he had spotted me, he’d probably ask me if I lived here. He was known for being really strict.”

Read more here: Shooter of Trayvon Martin a habitual caller to cops - Trayvon Martin - MiamiHerald.com

Is that the source? Seems like fairly innocuous statement there... this is some big smoking gun or were we just happy to put a name to the quote?

Zimmerman wasn't law enforcement right?

So you contend that cops wake up in the morning and say to themselves, "Damn that 4th amendment! I wanted to shoot some poor defenseless little black kids today too!"

Yeah... cops always do that don't they...

If he'd have beaten a cop, he'd have gotten jail time. Just reading the charges tells you nothing. As for TRO's? Courts hand them out like popcorn...and they each had one against the other. Unless you know the skinny, you don't know much.

he should have stayed in his car, like a good little wanna-be cop.

When I was his age....

Like Martin I got in trouble a lot.
Like Martin I smoked pot.
Like Martin, when I was a 17 year old, I might have attacked someone if I thought they were following me.

But unlike Martin, I would like to think that, no matter how much pot I smoked, I would not brutally continue to beat the hell out of someone while they were down and screaming for help.

When I was his age, I was in great physical shape and very strong like Martin, but I just don't think I could have been cruel enough to do that. I mean, maybe I would have decked the guy, but there is no way in hell I would have beat him up while he was on the ground screaming for help.

That is simply cruel and heartless.

What if the guy you we're fighting with suddenly has GUN!

Would you stop fighting then or try to keep him from shooting you?

I'm not saying this DID happen, but the gun did come out.

Was it a smooth draw from concealment or a protracted attempt to get it out of your waistband holster while the guy on top of you tries to keep you from doing so?

A gun came into play at some point and AT that point became a real and actionable threat to MARTINS life.

Zimmerman wasn't law enforcement right?

For good reason. Look how he acted simply because a hoodie and skittles.

So you contend that cops wake up in the morning and say to themselves, "Damn that 4th amendment! I wanted to shoot some poor defenseless little black kids today too!"

Yeah... cops always do that don't they...

No. You're sinking in the water and grasping for straws.

I think that Zimmerman's actions putting himself in a dangerous situation are completely relevant. Best way to avoid a punch is to not be there when it arrives. He played with fire and then shouted that it's someone else's fault when he got burned.

Your speculation that Zimmerman put himself in a dangerous situation is based on nothing more than your desires to see Zimmerman strapped to Old Sparky. There is nothing inherently dangerous about keeping tabs on someone. The two men both took paths to get where they were when the gun went off. Zimmerman could have avoided the altercation by staying home but you seem intent on ignoring that Martin could have avoided the altercation too.

I know you don't have the least bit of interest in factual evidence but I do. I might not necessarily believe Zimmerman's account that he lost sight of Martin and headed back to his SUV on its own but it's corroborated by his conversation with the 911 dispatcher and Martin's girlfriend. He was remarkably accurate and descriptive about his actions with the 911 dispatcher up to that point so I see no reason to believe he lied to the dispatcher about losing Martin. The real thorn in your argument though is Martin's girlfriend stating that he confronted Zimmerman wanting to know why he was being followed.

I don't personally care about any of this as they're both reasonable reactions to the events and neither warrants any sort of physical altercation at all but if you're going to make the argument that it could have all been avoided if Zimmerman stayed home, it can equally be argued that it could have all been avoided had Martin not confronted Zimmerman.

I don't care what you think of Mary Cutcher's testimony, but you don't get to disregard it because it doesn't fit your version of events.

I don't have a version of events here. While you've engaged in unsubstantiated speculation for 180-something pages now, I'm just looking at the factual information and that includes Cutcher's admission that she witnessed the altercation after Martin was dead. You're just incorrect when you say her testimony is inconsistent with other witnesses. Those other witnesses were describing the events before Martin's death. This is just a matter of fact no matter how inconvenient to your unsubstantiated speculation.

I completely agree, but who are you talking about here? Is it me approaching him, or is it him approaching me. Because its definitely a bad idea to approach strangers in the dark with bad intentions.

Hard to say. But it was never verified--claimed or denied--that the gun was in Z's belt.

In any event, I guess it would depend on a number of things. I'm a trained martial artist (wrestling and Jiu-Jitsu) so for me wrist control would be every thing. I probably wouldn't be punching the guy in the first place.

In any event, I don't think that this thought experiment works for just anyone.

he pleaded guilty to other misdemeanor charges, and the charge of battery of a LEO was dropped.

That's my point. They dropped the charge. They don't drop charges on people who beat cops. Ever. There is more to the story.

So zimmerman went to a black kid and asked him if he saw any suspicious black kids in the neighborhood? Wait, what? is that your argument? Sorta reminds me of the time your hater lifestyle got jealous of The Good Reverend, kid.

My guess is that Martin did not know about the gun until the scuffle.

Maybe Zimmerman did not even intend to draw it until Martin reached for it.

I have a hard time believing Zimmerman already had the gun drawn and Martin just walks up and breaks his nose. Honestly who does that?

I can tell you this: I have a concealed weapons permit and occasionally carry. Besides my desire not to kill someone, every gun owner knows in the back of their mind that even if they use it in such a way that it is justified you still have to deal with such consequences of a grieving family and possible retribution.

I'd say must gun owners will not just draw down on someone at the drop of a hat.

The number of people killed by guns is a very tiny in comparison to the number of people who have guns ( estimated 1 in 4 Americans).

Maybe you are right. Probably a cop shot Martin, then told Zimmerman to say he did and that the cops will cover him, then they can go out for beers together figuring the next black kid to kill. Zimmerman and the police may have been staging this for weeks. Most people become cops hoping for a chance to kill black people.

But seriously, we KNOW why YOU hate cops. You explain how you always drive around smoking pot and have for years, carrying your can of Febreeze as cover. A person doing that really isn't going to like cops a whole lot. And I seem to remember you're writing your half-black in ancestry (correct?) so OMG if some cop "profiles" you for driving 23 in a 55 zone for maybe being black. And if they did, it was because they think you are black and arrested you it isn't your perfect Febreeze cover didn't work, its because they think your black.

Besides, pot makes many people quite paranoid and of cops anyway. It appears that you are.
