I vote no. I'll be watching and believe that my understanding of the attempted coup by the orange man will be solidified. I also believe that the deniers will not watch or will have their belief that this is just another witch hunt by the dems, deep state, Hillary, ... solidified.

Irrelevant question.

The dog and pony show isn't designed to "change minds". It's designed to create a narrative prior to the 2022 elections.

The dog and pony show will be unveiling their narrative over the next month or so and the media will dutifully splash it all over the internet. This is nothing more than a combination of propaganda and marketing that will hopefully sell their narrative before the election.

I believe most have come to terms with the failed autogolpe in one form or another. Either as acceptance of just another institutional degradation or pretend it didn't happen. No minds will be changed.

What, in particular, is propaganda?

Let's flip that.
Will the GOP counter-programming change anyone's mind?

Now watch as the same people who insist Jan 6th Committee hearings "won't change minds" insist that the Trump counterprogramming will.

FOOTNOTE: The Watergate Hearings began AFTER Nixon was REELECTED in another landslide, AFTER several administrative purge attempts and AFTER massive counterprogramming attempts released by the Committee to Reelect the President in advance.

It is a political circus

Designed to sway voters minds

The problem is akin to the old story

When you continuously tell the American people that you have evidence of crimes, and yet nothing ever comes of it....they tire of listening

That is the democrats at this point......

For the midterms, no. Republicans are going to vote Republican and Democrats will vote Democratic regardless. I’d say most independents don’t care about the 1-6 hearings. Trump is long gone, no longer president, no longer in charge. They don’t care about him anymore. 1-6 happened almost a year and a half ago. Ancient history to most independents and to some, totally forgotten about. Most independents are worried about inflation, rising prices, empty store shelves, today’s major problem. Inflation, thinning to flat wallets is their number one, most important issue in deciding who to vote for in November. Not something as old as 1-6.

Abortion, mass shootings have a better chance of changing a few independents minds than the 1-6 hearings.

I think they have the capacity to change minds.

Look Democrats are terrible at political theater but the facts in this matter are so damning that I believe impartial observer’s will be swayed.

Fox News is going to run interference so it probably won’t change any cultist mind.

But there are probably people that are relatively apolitical who will see the facts and change their minds.

I think safeguarding the Electoral College count and the orderly transition of power is an obvious legislative purpose.

OK, but wasn’t that precisely what stopped the ‘insurrection’ from succeeding?

What failed on 1/6/2021 was US Capitol security which is under direct control of the US House. IMHO, far too little attention is being paid to that fact and how to legislate to prevent it from recurring.

I doubt it. The only thing that would change some people’s minds is if the DOJ holds people legally accountable and there are criminal convictions. Garland’s DOJ has been unwilling to do that. Nobody has been charged with insurrection and the DOJ has rejected referrals from the committee for contempt of Congress charges.

There is going to be new January 6th hearings next year with new committee. We may get the truth then.

depends on what you mean by changing minds
id say anybody claiming right now that calling 1/6 a failed insurraction is a factually not accurate definition and that Donnie played ZERO role in it will never be changed. That type of bat shit insane stupidity doesn't care about reality.

now those that know better and understand that reality that's what it was may change from he played a 1% role to MORE than a 1% role that remains to be seen depending on if there's NEW info that comes out

You forget that security, police, Natl Guard and all others were told specifically by acting SecDef to STAND DOWN.
Here was the direct order from Christopher Miller, acting for Trump.
Furthermore, DC police were also told to stand down.

Jan6 Christopher Miller stand down order.webp

Not a chance although it may confirm the thoughts of many especially moderate Republicans and Independents that, in fact, Trump did try to subvert the election and interfere with the peaceful transfer of power. Those who already know that or absolutely deny it won't move. Unfortunately, I think most Trumpers will avoid watching altogether preferring to be told what to think, too bad.

Sounds a lot like Hindenburg just rolling over in 1933.
Keep telling yourself that "good American independents don't really care".
