Progs take politics way too seriously. The political position that one takes is not a virtue. Political opponents also want what's best as they see it. On the subject of climate change, a lot of progs sincerely believe that fighting against AGW is tantamount to saving the planet while others sincerely believe that such activity is a waste of resources that harms the economy.

I think thats the mistake people make...they feel like there has to be this little narrow box that everyone must fit in. To me, Libertarians believe in efficient and effective government, an emphasis on the Constitution and order...self, state, and country, in that order. They believe in limited government powers...not anarchy. They believe in personal responsibility. The problem is, people want to promote a Libertarian societal model on an existing capitalist model and then imagine that translates to the real world. It doesnt. It cant. Perhaps if you took 1000 libertarian couples and dropped them off on a desert Island they could create a Libertarian Utopia.Well, not knowing exactly what my label is, or should be, I have been told by many that I have "libertarian" viewpoints. I have taken those online quiz's that tell me I'm a libertarian too. But I'll be honest. Sometimes I read the **** posted by people who call themself libertarian and I just want to fart in their face. Swear to God. I have nothing in common with them so I can't see how all the indicator's point to me as being a libertarian.
The real truth though, is that most of us who voted Trump find him distasteful at best, and his more extreme ramblings quite cringe-worthy... we just felt that electing the Felon-in-Chief, Dark Mistress of All Corruption to be POTUS would have been even worse.
We had really ****ty choices this time around. It was pretty much this: "You are getting **** for Prez. Your only practical choice is your preferred flavor of ****."
Being a Progressive, Liberal, Socialist, Fascist has nothing to do with social issues, although the Left often uses social Issues to gain power and support.
Looking at any situation or problem and concluding the answer is to give Government more power is what makes a person a Progressive, Liberal, Socialist, Fascist, Communist.
Lowdown, does the National Review pay you to just repost its stuff here and call it a day?

those that voted for trump must think that a man that makes fun of the handicapped, gropes women and is a birther is ok....enjoy the next 4 to 8 years with that.

Oddly enough, it seems that most libertarians accuse other libertarians of not really being libertarian all the time. The 'official' third party libertarians are not the only libertarians out there. It spans the whole ideological spectrum from anarcho-left-libertarians to right-libertarians.
It seems like I became libertarian by default. I don't oppose abortion, oppose the death penalty, etc., so I can't be a conservative. I oppose big government that taxes and spends a lot, so I can't be a leftist. So that leaves libertarianism. But then the hard core libertarians insist that there be no authority at all, which is an impossible pie in the sky utopian vision akin to the socialist utopia.

You do realize that fascists are far right?
Your list doesn't really work.
Heads up; I got an infraction for saying someone got paid to post here. [still not sure why]
progs, by definition, see government as the source of all that is good. We on the right see government as basically -at best-a necessary evil. When the government is controlled by conservatives, the left generally is far more upset than right wingers living under a leftwing regime. To us-such a situation merely means the government goes from mediocre to bad, for the left, losing the election means mother government is now a hostile being.
so of course the progs are going to be far more vicious towards those of us who helped rip the government away from their hands.

I think most non-liberals realize that the agendas really do not change much regardless of who is in office. The liberal's on the other hand live in a fantasy world the majority of the time and think this all makes some kind of difference........
Liberalism is a disease of ignorance.

There are two types of Progressive Liberals:
1. Socialists attempting to lie about what they are.
2. Useful Idiots who join up because they think it’s cool or they like a social issue (abortion, gay rights). But they don’t realize they are giving support to the most destructive political/economic ideology the world has ever seen.
A close examination of the governing platforms of both Socialism and Communism shows the absolute only difference between the two is Socialist try to claim they can function without a Totalitarian Dictatorship.
The problem with that is Socialism is so antithetical to human nature that people have to be forced to do it. This can only happen with an all powerful centralized government controlling everything AKA a Totalitarian Dictatorship.

Well the National Review is wrong about this. I didn't vote for Trump and I know people who did and I didn't cut them out from my life. Hm... must be the thinking from a conservative publication.
I wonder how Mother Jones is treating Trump voters right now? No need to check. That publication has just about as much merit too.
