In economics correlation is often the only way to assess cause. We cannot go back in time, choose a different policy, and measure different results. President Obama inherited the Great Recession and recovered from it. President Trump inherited Obama's recovery, and drove it into a ditch by not responding earlier and better to COVID-19.

Both are socialist based programs....You do know that Trump is going to eliminate the tax that supports those two programs right? Interesting how context doesn't matter to you as you live in that bubble totally ignoring that the Obama economic policies actually hurt people, it forced millions to seek part time jobs which affected and skewed the unemployment rate, those part time jobs created set records. If you want to discuss rates, then it is the U-6 that matters not the U-3, Recession started, U-6 9.2, Obama leaves office 9.3, Trump 6.7% Keep buying the liberal spin and keep ignoring actual results

SS and Medicare are funded by a specific tax paid by you and your employer, Socialism is funded by all taxes. Prove that Trump is going to eliminate SS and Medicare? Is Trump going to eliminate the payroll taxes?? Where do you get your information and mind reading ability?
