Everyone is so stuck up and believe that freedom is free and always blaming people for their own problems. Always wanting others to do the hard work.

It's a liberal position, very progressive. No responsibility, no consequences. Haven't you ever heard or had someone claim that if JFK were here today he wouldn't be accepted by the Democrats. Not nearly liberal or progressive enough and that statement, "Ask not what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country" simply doesn't fit the liberal agenda. Kennedy has his faults but he loved his country, served it well as a war hero, and then in government.

Maybe it's the reason they killed him

It is a humane position. Helping others and the group is what society is about The right wing mantra of the individual is selfish and isolationist.

I agree. You often post about actions that others should undertake, instead of acting yourself. I wish you took JFK’s words to heart.

Like? I charge my phone with a hand crank often. I make my own bullets. It's you average Americans that take everything for granted

How many years did you serve your country in the military? What other service have you provided your country? I'm gonna go out on a limb and suggest you've never done anything for your country and so you're whining about yourself.

Name one act of service you've done for your country. 9 times out of 10, the people who whine the loudest about how nobody serves their country anymore has never served it themselves.

Simple answer?

Because people are self centered.

I think the U.S. is pretty decent when it comes to humanitarian aid.

If you're asking a political question, then I suggest researching a little. From what I recall, Republicans give more cash, Liberals give more time.

As for me personally, I've dedicated myself to service in this country and I hope that is what JFK meant :)

Islam and China are that way because they're forced to be.

Is that a world you wish to live in?

JFK made that speech in 1961 - when more than half this country (meaning women and minorities) did not have equal rights.

In 2023, women and minorities are still fighting for equal footing thanks to today’s GOP and zealots.

Because its counter the founding principles. The country exists to protect my life and liberty, not for me to provide services to it.

That is simply your opinion

I would like to respond but I'm busy taking the fifth concerning my responsibilities.

Absolutely? Why pay taxes at all?

Why do you think a bunch of men from a couple of hundred years ago would know about how americans should live in the 21st century?

What do taxes have to do with this topic?
The guy I was answering to said that he's not obligated to serve the country whatsoever

You keep avoiding the question though you've been asked multiple times, and it's obvious why.

What have YOU PERSONALLY done to serve this country?

The people of Islamic nations aren't. Chinese kinda arent. Us needs to get it's act together
Show us the evidence that islamic nations have higher participation in service of one's country. You can't because you pulled it out of your ass.

Plenty of community service. Protested a couple times. Was a party board member in my college. I'm an armed security guard now. Plenty of times where I was in a dangerous situation

Compared to the average American this is obvious. They are more collective

The translation is, "Ask not what I can do for you, ask what you can do for me."
