Why do guys look?

Hey everybody. I have a couple of questions. :P

Alright, guys, why is it that men love to look at "the figure" of women?
Are there any guys here that aren't compelled to look?

Also, to the lebians, do you have the same urges?

Do the same urges appear in gay males? And why is there no special term for gay males, but the the ladies have "lesbian?"

I am not compelled to look, but I am not normal either.
 
I like to look at women...
 
If I notice a hot girl when I'm out, yeah I'll look, who wouldn't? Obviously there's no creepy staring going on, but if your attracted to someone, how can you not atleast take a glance?
 
****. I don't know. Because it's the most efficient way to find out which women in my immediate vicinity I might want to hit on?

In all seriousness, there's an awful lot of mostly douchy critical theory literature on the subject of the "male gaze." Most of it's found in various forms of feminist literature, and most of it is bull. But, yeah. There're people who've done a lot of thinking on the subject. I had to study some of it in college but I can't recall coming away with a good answer to your question.

Would you go to an art museum and not look at the van Goughs? It's human nature to appreciate the beautiful.

I will look at a woman, no sweat. Nothing overt though... I always found that I got more interest if they thought that I didn't even notice them, or if I did, a smile like 'nice to see you, but damn that (anything) over there sure is more interesting). No idea why, but getting kinda ignored seems to make women try harder to get noticed. But I certainly will look at various parts of a woman's body, the curves... it is the curves. And the softness... ummm, I will be right back.
 
We look at hot women because they're nice to look at. I'm sure there's some biological reason why we do it, like we're sizing up their potential as a mate or something, but really, it's not complicated.
 
Almost every woman has some beauty, in some its easier to spot than in others but either way only time spent admiring can appreciate obvious or subtle beauty !!

Aren't we suppose to? I mean, seems kind of rude not to.
 
I never understood looking at women.

Of course, I'm gay so that may be why.
