that defender could have got hurt. I remember talking to a DEA guy from Miami who said they have had Dreds that have razor blades or fish hooks in them. lots of fun to pat down a rasta =kevlar gloves are the standard

I don't see a need for a ban on long hair (of any sort) in football, unless it turns out that it's a causal agent in injuries.

By the same token, I don't see why any football player would want to give the opposing players such an obvious target.

Well in this case it appears that it was a weave. Not his real hair. So it's more of a decoy if it just comes off in your hands. Seems that it could serve the same function as those tear-away jerseys that used to be legal in the NFL.
