they just flashed a new reprot of fidel castro out in public smiling for all. people in cuba are hoping he dies sooner than later
The news media had him already dead several times, before. He's like the Energizer Bunny. You can't get rid of him. So he dies, his brother, Raul will take over with more of the same.
When he dies, he'll go on my list of "Dead people it would be fun to have a conversation with the ghost of." So I could ask him "Well, now that it's all over, was it worth it, do you think?"
I've always wondered what people like him think in their last moments.
He'll probably die with a big smile on his face thinking "i showed you Americans and your illegitemate embargo's".
He wins either way.
Yep, it's only the people that lose, but screw them, right?

how about kids with blackberries, elections. and of couse having a car or some music made sometime after 1959 ??
Raul Castro was always more vicious than Fidel. I wouldn't underestimate the "Amor a la Revolution" these people have. Hell, most of Latin America is in love with socialism and always have been.
Unfortunately in perceiving an imperialist power at their door and a negative reciprocity from the US govt. (who has at times in history been in fault with cuba) they are unlikely to liberalize.
Yep the liberal U.S. will be the reason for the unliberal policies of the communist monarchy. The U.S. is responsible for the Castro's regime oppression of the Cuban people.
The revolution feeds off the "injustice of the US against Cuba" [embargo] and apparently, its working.
They will have to do more reforms just like Vietnam did after HCM died. I long for the day when evil imperialist food from McDonalds and the likes of Wal-Mart will be in Cuba! And multi colored SUV's!
Unfortunately everybody loses under communism. But the revolution was and remains a populist movement, which still enjoys a large support base, and probably will continue to enjoy a large support base for as long as America allows Cuba to victimize itself.

Yep, the people support it so much that the 'flimsy boat industry' is thriving over there....Look, Castro, and Che combined their murderous take over against the will of the people, that is how communist always do things, bloodshed or not.
:lamo Now that is funny. Injustice.....Pfft! Why yes, we should embrace with open arms communism, and illegitimate dictatorships as long as they are cause celebs for the left....
A product of public education no doubt.
