The NRA does not use money to sway politicians.$52.6 million
They use grades
The NRA does not use money to sway politicians.$52.6 million
According to politifact which tracked more than just congressional donations. Not according to OpenSecrets.
What excuses?Mh nope. It has to do with your excuses.
There's nothing in this study other than a claim that in another study, Cook et al said that the majority of the 284k weren't real businesses.
Why do republicans want stricter immigration laws when current laws dont work? I didnt think i needed to spell it out for yaWhat excuses?
I explained that tge gun laws you propose like background checks don't work.
An example would be Adam lanza who shot his mother and stole her firearms
And I explained that when criminals lie and try to buy a firearm they are very rarely prosecuted..which means background checks aren't about stopping criminals.
And you counter with " Republicans and immigration "???
You seem to be going off the deep end.

Ummmm… i think you arent getting why i linked that study. There's nothing in this study other than a claim that in another study, Cook et al said that the majority of the 284k weren't real businesses.
According to OpenSecrets: " Each profile also tracks the organization’s lobbying activity to influence public policy, as well as its outside spending to influence elections."According to politifact which tracked more than just congressional donations.

Counting up how much the NRA spends on campaigns, lobbying
Since the mass shooting in Las Vegas, there has been much discussion about the National Rifle Association’s influence onwww.politifact.com
Which you havnt posted. 60 million in 2017According to OpenSecrets: " Each profile also tracks the organization’s lobbying activity to influence public policy, as well as its outside spending to influence elections."
Ummmm… i think you arent getting why i linked that study.
It's on the OpenSecret site. I gave you a link to the OpenSecrets site.Which you havnt posted.
You should have read it. If you had you would know that criminals get their firearms from the secondary market through theft and strawman purchases.
I posted for a different reason than my initial post to give a hint of why it failed. You should have read it. If you had you would know that criminals get their firearms from the secondary market through theft and strawman purchases.
As a reason why it failed. You did write this, correct? "As Cook, Molliconi & Cole point out, the majority of the 284,000 dealers do not operate legitimate businesses."
You did provide a link to support this claim correct? https://scholarlycommons.law.northwestern.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=6850&context=jclc
The link does not support the claim regarding the legitimacy of the majority of FFLs in 1995.
Actually I think that Republicans want current immigration laws to be enforced. Why do republicans want stricter immigration laws when current laws dont work? I didnt think i needed to spell it out for ya![]()
You really have no clue what you are talking about..do you?I posted for a different reason than my initial post to give a hint of why it failed.
And here's that link:You should have read it. If you had you would know that criminals get their firearms from the secondary market through theft and strawman purchases.
It focused on the dealerships versus requiring licenses like driver’s licenses. And here's that link:
In "Source and Use of Firearms Involved in Crimes: Survey of Prison Inmates, 2016", the DOJ reported in Table 5 where criminals get their guns. We see that vast majority of guns in the hands of criminals come from straw purchases, family transfers, theft and the underground market (Illegal sources of firearms that include markets for stolen goods, middlemen for stolen goods, criminals or criminal enterprises, or individuals or groups involved in sales of illegal drug). A total of 0.8% come from gun shows. Purchases from "good guys" in private sales don't even show up.
I posted for a different reason than my initial post to give a hint of why it failed.
Dealers who wish to be law abiding must have an FFL and abide by all of the rules associated with that license. It focused on the dealerships versus requiring licenses like driver’s licenses.
Doesnt have to be background checks, Canada has stricter laws requiring citizens to actually take training courses. Think of it like what we require for vehicles.Actually I think that Republicans want current immigration laws to be enforced.
However..you are right..it would be dumb to try to get stricter laws if current laws aren't being enforced.
So if you agree it's a bad idea..why are you proposing we have stricter background check laws when the currently they are not prosecuting those that lie and try?
Please explain
The law failedWhat "failed"? You claim: "A large percentage of federally licensed dealers are not "dealers" at all, at least not in the sense that a dealer is the owner and operator of a store."
You don't get to define "dealer". The ATF does. You don't need a storefront to be a dealer.
Exactly.Traffic laws don't work
Look at all the speeders we have. Lol
The law only focused on dealers and provided shoddy enforcement mechanisms.Dealers who wish to be law abiding must have an FFL and abide by all of the rules associated with that license.
So no speed limit laws either? Wow! Its fun to see what laws you would shoot down.Exactly.
"Several studies have shown that increasing speed limits on these roads will not only encourage people to drive safer, but even decrease accident risks. A study conducted in 1997, known as the “Parker” study, chose 100 sites across the country and either raised or lowered the speed limit slightly and calculated the effects the changes had on accident rates. The results were exactly the opposite of what we hear from so many people: the areas with increased speed limits saw a decline accidents, while the areas with the lower limits actually saw more accidents than before"

Do Speed Limits Actually Keep Us Safer?
While you may hear that excessive speed on the roads causes serious injuries and death, the truth of the matter is the real culprit may actually be the speed limits themselves. Read our blog to learn more about studies that show this phenomenon.www.fmslaw.org
