 They still use crossbows?
Why isn't Lichtenstein on this poll?!
Why isn't Lichtenstein on this poll?!
Come again? Could you repeat that in English?
I will repeat, that military tactics at one battle in Vietnam in 1954 has absolutely nothing to do with which European nation is the most powerful.
Until you define what you mean by most powerful, the debate is utterly pointless. You can regard such an opinion as ridicule if you want, but then you'd be failing in your definition of that common English word too.
I've a bit of a thing for San Marino. Cute uniforms.

Okay. American and Nazi require capital letters. Second sentence should have been written thus: "Next time, be so kind as to point out my faulty English; I might improve." The use of correct punctuation really helps comprehension. It's american you grammar nazi. Next time be so kind to show my faulty english, I might improve.
Powerful: having great power, prestige, or influence <a powerful leader>
I'm afraid that's another sentence that doesn't make any sense to me. "If you are able to combine powerful with most..." How would I do that? What do you mean, "combine powerful with most...?" Powerful what? Most what?If you're able to combine powerful with most you can bore us with your opinion.
Well, at least we agree on something. It was a very fatuous diversion for the thread to take. Where we don't agree is that I think the very basis of the thread is pretty fatuous, as no one seems capable of defining what constitutes 'powerful'. In point of fact, there seem to be quite a few posters who are unclear as to what constitutes Europe. Some battle in Asia could be considered part of 'prestige', although I wouldn't argue over something that trivial in such an important question like who's the most powerful country in Europe.
One of the joys of being dutch is always having an excuse.Okay. American and Nazi require capital letters. Second sentence should have been written thus: "Next time, be so kind as to point out my faulty English; I might improve." The use of correct punctuation really helps comprehension.
I would say physical but I guess this is entirely up to you, you only need to have an opinion to take part. You can motivate why you believe one of the given three has the most power. Now, you see, this doesn't really help us. "Having great power," means having what kind of power? Economic? Military? Cultural? Sporting? Physical? "Prestige"? In whose eyes and estimation? "Influence"? Over what and whom?
ehm .. maybe "most powerful" ..I'm afraid that's another sentence that doesn't make any sense to me. "If you are able to combine powerful with most..." How would I do that? What do you mean, "combine powerful with most...?" Powerful what? Most what?

beats the Greek elites
guys Hemingway described as soldiers in ballet skirts
Makes you wonder, just how many guys are lining up to proudly join the "elite" and earn the right to wear this *ahem* "attractive" uniform? :thinking
You have no clue. Those Greek Evzones dress like that when forming the Honour Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in front of the Greek Parliament in Athens. There was a terrorist bomb blast in the Square in January this year. Despite a telephoned warning, those guards in the funny outfits refused to abandon their posts. The officer who informed them stood with them when they declined his offer. Luckily they were all uninjured in the explosion.
Too funny, do they have a don't ask don't tell rule?
No, but these ones do.
You telling me the Greeks look gayer than that? That's Navy pride for you!
Lets have a bet
you and I will walk through an inner city in the USA-I dressed as the US sailor and you in the kilt and hose.
what do you think the outcome will be?
Not really. If the German effort was there they could build a good navy comparable to GB and then the fight would be all over for GB.
I'm suprised noone has said Russia? Maybe not enough posts yet.
That you'll get waaaay more offers of c*** than me. Guaranteed!
uniforms are fairly common in inner cities-its a common way out of the the ghetto. believe it or not, most of the guys in the hood respect-or at least don't respect, guys in enlisted uniforms
Offers? I doubt it but I guarantee who is going to have the living crap beat out of them

Eh? Do they or don't they respect guys in uniform?
And in which hoods? That may be an American thing, because the military has a considerably lower prestige in many other countries.
Something tells me the wiseguy is gonna get beat up in the ghetto, not the guys in any uniform.
