  • ....in any case, i didn't cast Turkey aside. Im not from, and was not born, in Turkey. Therefore casting aside is the wrong word, because it wasn't with me technically speaking in the first place. Sure, im biased for the country, but i realized GB and simply acknowledged that fact. Besides, if im not a Briton, what am i?
Just like you cast aside Turkey in favor of Great Britain?

Was that comment supposed to be spiteful?

I don't know. As long as dual-citizenship is an option, I'll take it. As of right now, I'm leaning towards Deutschland.

We're young, we dont have to make that decision yet. Deutschland is a great country but by embracing it, you take many responsibilities apon yourself...your countrymen don't have it easy in this age where the relics of WWII and its past disasters are always brought up, now with media to the masses. Then again, America too is great. Its your call and choose wisely!
Roosevelt once said that an American can only hold one flag and one allegiance....and its true. You cant lobby your support for Germany and America, you'll have to let go of one or the other at some point, as have many other German Americans on this forum like "American", and Korimyr the Rat. Which one will it be? And don't you agree?
