Why would anyone look for god's name in the bible?
IDK, maybe because it purports to be the word of God ?

I think you're misreading it. I think it's saying that his name IS "Hallowed." Kind of a dumb name. He shoulda gone with "Tony."
It's a secret because because if you knew someone's name, you could curse them.

LMAO
A very weak attempt at a wind-up.
In Christian Bibles, Yahweh is usually translated as "the LORD," a rough equivalent to the Hebrew "Adonai."

In bible times, people did not have a bible. Your reliance on the bible is superstitious.
Pretty ironic in light of the topic of this thread.
It used to, in older versions...Exodus 6:3 and Psalm 83:18, to name 2, but in the newer versions, even the KJ omits God's name...But the King James Bible states God's name as Jehovah on one or two occasions does it not ?
Please explain the irony
I doubt that you understand what it means.
Not to the point that the qur'an makes that claim. The bible is believed by some to be inspired by God, whereas the qur'an is believed to be a verbatim sermon FROM God. He has no name in Islam. "Allah" is simply Arabic for "The God".

But they still had scripture in the form of scrolls.
As with any personal relationship, it is vital to know/use that person's name, no?So if the Bible is inspired by God, it would be a logical place to start to look for his name, no ?
Your entire thread is a weak attempt at a wind-up.

No, your average person at the time had no access to any scrolls.

Yeah, that was my point...they've removed it in later versions...Be that as it may, the fact is that for nearly 500 years the KJ version referenced God's name as Jehovah.
As with any personal relationship, it is vital to know/use that person's name, no?
It's the people who created the belief system who were afraid of curses. And God would fear that because... ?

The would be found in every temple....which your average person would frequent.
