A select fire weapon. The point of an auto rifle is not to inflict rapid casualties, it's suppression. Suppression makes assault on a fortified position possible. Suppression ability is what makes a rifle "assault", in military terms.

Defense requires all sort of firearm, handgun, bolt, rifle, etc.

Does defense require the ability to assault a fortified position? Should military weapons, actual assault rifles (auto) be banned? Meh. Crew served autos? That could be questionably defining "arms".

In short, if not select fire then not "military weapon", nor assault rifle.

Actually yes.. you could definitely kill more folks with a deer rifle. Particularly from a distance that would prevent you from being shot or captured.

They forget the tower shooter at the University of Texas, bolt action rifle with a scope, was like shooting fish in a barrel. Oh and he had a brain tumor that made him act erratically, he even left a note telling doctors to find out what was wrong with him.

Yeup, also in use. I have those also, and do not forgot my tomahawks, spears, knives, bows, and crossbows, the list goes on and on, takes a while to build a proper arsenal.................especially those items the military no longer uses but has used.

They were used as late as the Vietnam War, and yes they do have uses.

So if you can only kill one deer at a time why do you need this king of rifle? I’m trying to understand why we repealed the 1994 ban on assault weapons. It was proven that mass shootings went down during that time.
