:lamo Those are my "heroes"?Why would you support the statues of your hero's being torn down over there?

Based on your beliefs, sure seems they could be.
Denial is such an ugly thing, yet you are so good at it.
maybe we should remove the Confederate memorials at Gettysburg..by this line of 'reasoning' :roll:Is it so unreasonable to demand that memorials to traitors who killed a bunch of American soldiers in the course of a failed rebellion to protect their right to enslave people should not be present on government land? They should never have been there in the first place, but the whiniest losers in American history managed to subvert the maxim that history is written by the victors.
Granted, the end of reconstruction and the Jim Crow era would suggest that it's a bit ambiguous who won in the end. I'm surprised we haven't gotten around to removing all slave owning presidents from our currency, to be honest. It would be a good thing to remove those guys from our currency. It will, of course, ruffle many feathers. It'd be best done one at a time and not with the goal of replacing slave owners overtly stated.
I'll bet the NAACP would pay for the demolition. I bet they could raise the money to do so in about three seconds. ****, I'd contribute to a Kickstarter dedicated to knocking down monuments to warlords who worked for traitorous slavelords and killed a few hundred thousand American soldiers in the course of their failed rebellion.
Some explanation of why Confederate soldiers are treated as American veterans from various acts of congress and what exists in the US code. Note, this source is not of my creation.
"You people"? You mean those of us who support the concept of freedom of speech and don't think we should hide the more distasteful parts of our history away in museums some where? Or were you thinking of something else?
Avoiding the question as usual. At least you're consistent.Oh look, it's another conservative who thinks "let's not fly traitors' flags over government buildings" attacks his "freedom of speech."
You can fly a traitors' flag all day if you want. Nobody is suggesting that become illegal. So, go on, whine more about your freedom of speech if you like. It's not under attack.

Replies to this thread are a prime example of why People of Colour will never vote Republican
I wasn't avoiding the question. I was rejecting its phony premise.
Putting something in a museum doesn't hide history, I don't know where you got that ridiculous idea. And, again, your freedom to fly a flag on your property is not in question here. Have fun with your traitors' flag.

The only flag I fly is the US flag. Not sure why you think it's a traitor's flag, but I'm sure you have your reasons.
Ah, start a thread, then do not participate except to do a drive by.... got it.
I think we should take it down as well. It represented a country that supported slavery for almost 100 years. I would never own a flag that represented people who thought slavery was OK. I would never pledge allegiance to a flag that represented a country that believed in slavery. Only white supremest Nazi's would consider such an act. The politically correct people of this country deserves better.
The next thing I do will be to climb up on my roof and dive head first into my driveway for serving in our military and being willing to die defending such a vile thing.

Bad argument.
The American flag stands for lots of good things.
The Confederate flag stands for nothing but slavery, treason and white supremacy.
Translation: "I have no real arguments so I will needlessly insult the thread starter"
I await your apology
