It's a bit morbid, but is there an ideal age to die ?

Quality of life over quantity. If one cannot enjoy life, then what's the point? This. And I'd add - when I no longer find joy in anything. Or when misery outweighs happiness.
When I was 20 I figured it'd be around age 40; past one's physical prime and old enough to see the next generation (should one choose to have one) into adulthood. Now 41 I'm starting to think it'll probably be in 5-10 years, though I suppose most of my physical decline over the past few years can be attributed to poor diet and working from home, sitting around all day and not exercising enough. It's very possible that when I'm 90 I'll be thinking that I only have two or three good years left in meIt's a bit morbid, but is there an ideal age to die ?
I hear you. I don't want to have to look after my parents! That's a good question, for myself, when I can no longer care for myself and become a burden on my family, then it's time to go.
Will your deteriorating mental faculties know when to make that call?I don't know if it's an exact age, but probably when your mental facilities start deteriorating to a large degree.
I have always said a good sense of humor is one of the most important things to have.I will welcome death the day after I lose my sense of humor.
Why I have a living will. There’s a big difference between living and being alive.
I want to die at ninety being shot by a jealous husband while bailing out of a second-story bedroom window. It's a bit morbid, but is there an ideal age to die ?

'Standard' immortality probably wouldn't be much fun with the way the world's going. Groundhog Year would be pretty close to heaven though, at least for folk who aren't already old, sick or have kids/spouse.If I had a say in the matter, I would choose to be immortal
????????? about the same as when it is a "bad" time to die.....It's a bit morbid, but is there an ideal age to die ?
Zeke Emannuel wrote a really good piece on this about ten years ago. It's a bit morbid, but is there an ideal age to die ?
Significant physical decline comes early. But does not matter much if one can do ordinary household chores and, most importantly, look after oneself. Mental decline is hard to measure. AT 89 - in ten days time - my memory is not what it was but only, so far, for things like place nam es that do not really matter. Estimates of what significant means will vary.Ideally when one experiences significant mental and/or physical decline.
