What if Joe Biden was the better candidate all along?

I bet his advisors and close allies talked him into it, they were like "you beat Trump before, we need you"...that's my guess.
I thought he made remarks that he didn't plan on running again, I believe it. Still, it was his choice, I just don't think he was being stubborn as the primary cause...I bet his bubble convinced him and themselves it was best if he ran again.
Just guessing.

Initially yes. But I think he was stubborn. Several indications. That he was still running a second term.

The drumbeat from the media after the debate was staggering. Its an example of hive mind dynamics.

I'd have to see some evidence. Given how stiff he was walking well before the debate, I can't imagine that guy wanted to do it all over again.
HE even made a remark on camera about admitting he didn't originally plan on running a second term.

But regardless, it was definitely his choice in the end. I just can't imagine it would have been better for Democrats to leave him in the running.

Interesting article from The Hill....

With the Nov. 5 election just over a fortnight away, here is an intriguing thought experiment.

By most accounts, the election is still a horse race too close to call. But although Vice President Kamala Harris quickly assumed the presidential mantle from Joe Biden and put in place an impressive start-up, October has not been particularly kind to her. Donald Trump has closed the electoral gaps, and some believe he is actually leading.

No matter who wins, we have to ask: Would President Biden have been a better candidate and choice despite suffering from the effects of age and 81 years? Further, suppose that the disastrous June 27 debate with Trump had not taken place, or that Biden had been firing on all cylinders that night. Would Biden have been forced to withdraw? And whether Harris loses or wins, some will ask whether Biden might still have been a better candidate.
And JUST LIKE THAT, Biden isn't senile anymore.

It's weird how conservatarians never seem to consider that other people have working memories.

Well, Donald himself did state that 98% of his followers have cognitive damage, so it's possible that they in fact do not have working memories.

The fact that virtually everyone who was dead-set on voting for Biden is delighted to be voting for Harris must be infuriating to @DrewPaul and @Linuxcooldude. It's so infuriating that suddenly they're not talking about Biden's cognitive abilities.
I had preferred to keep Biden, but I have changed my mind in the last few weeks.

But none of this was decided based on the ever-changing MAGA hivemind.

Interesting. I need to go find the post from a die hard that told me over and over and over that EVERYONE is happy with Harris instead of Biden. :ROFLMAO:
Initially it was euphoria to have a candidate who could walk on her own, carry a conversation, clap hands and sway to music, not look for dead people in an audience and best of all hadn't fallen once in three years!!! At first, having Harris avoid all contact with the media, hold rallies and orate from a teleprompter worked well. Then it wore thin. She regained some initiative in the debate but in hind site she didn't clarify her positions or actually answer any questions. She's since done many interviews. At her latest town house meeting the interviewer told the audience only 'pre-determined' questions would be allowed.

This isn't making a splash but the left would go bonkers if it was Trump.

Harris is now being exposed for the very reasons she failed to get any delegates. She sounds like she's pleading when answering questions. She looks ill at ease. She is a poor candidate.

If she loses you might change again...

Uh huh.

And we're to believe you're distressed by Kamala Harris being the choice because she's not as good as Biden?

Pull the other leg, it's got bells on it.

No surprise at all. They get debate questions in advance, moderators on their side, Yada yada.

True that, but the goldfish* approach to politics is just weird. I don't have the batteries or bandwidth to do a volte face every four or five days.

* - or maybe is it a locust swarm? There's something to how they swarm from feed supply to feed supply, and keep the skies dark with their flight...

Why would I be distressed? Trump would give Peewee Herman a good chance of winning.

At least 3 or 4 times today, thanks for asking.

Residents of Phoenix?

I must admit to being just stupid enough to miss the reference.
It's a regional thing. Phoenix residents move from restaurant to restaurant, breed, and die.

No, if she loses, it means more Americans want Trump.
That's the wonderful thing about a representative republic. Even stupid people have a voice.
I think a lot of it s right wing propaganda that works and confuses people, but yeah, it's hard to imagine why they watch it and don't get it.

He insists there are good reasons many prefer Trump. They are secret though, shhh...can't say what they are. Very hush hush.

They love him because he entertains them.
He trolls liberals, he's brash and talks shit to everyone, he captures the news cycle every time he praises Hitler or talks about dicks, I mean, they LOVE that.
They don't' believe it matters, they figure he's just trolling libs and commanding the news cycle, which is partially true. Right wing media defuses the rest for a lot of their voters.
Crimes, capitol attack, fake elector plot, extortion, calling dems the "enemy within" that he'd use the miltiary to go after them....

JD Vance said he's America's Hitler, I mean, the intelligent and honest Republicans know what's what, but the average voter isn't JD Vance.
Or maybe they are..Vance jumped at the chance to work for America's Hitler (according to him) for his own selfish interests, maybe the voters are the same way.
Beat/troll teh dems, you can do and say whatever you want, we'll back you!! How low can you go.
