I agree. Way too many people have been misled by despair and then cheerleading. The same military experts that said there would be no invasion, then said that in an invasion that Ukraine wouldn't last three days, are now declaring Putin is stalled and desperate.
The Russian offensive may be much slower than anticipated, the column in front of Kiev may have stopped to fix logistical troubles, and some Russian troops are demoralized but the long run with enough time and expenditure, Putin won't stop.
The initial failure of the Russian offensive to achieve its main goals is due to several factors, some of them fixable in the short run. It may take days to reorganize and get supplies to the spearheads, but it will happen. And while the Russian air force wasn't able to disable all airfields, or all anti-aircraft batteries and Ukraine's smaller air force can still operate, everyday of operations shrinks Ukraine's limited inventory of planes.
The Russians now have 90 percent of the invasion combat troops in. They have finally caught on and moved in a whole lot of S-400 and other anti-aircraft missiles and guns into their convoys. At the moment it is extremely risky for Ukraine to attack a main axis convoy and can only do so by coming in at the lowest possible level and dumping dumb bombs, then hope to escape through the convoys withering ground fire. (Ukraine's heroic and most well known fighter pilot came out of retirement, the Grey Wolf, and was killed yesterday when his plane was hit by an S-400 battery). And it seems that the Ukrainians are desperately short of their s-300s, many knocked out.
It looks increasingly likely that Putin will use huge Russian firepower, rather than combat troops, to destroy forces and cities at will. The Russians won't fight house to house, they will however surround cities and issue ultimatums. Surrender or be leveled with Thermobaric bombs, cluster munt, long range artillery and ballistic missiles. He will, as he did in Chechnya, simple wipe historic cities off the map.
His air force will have its role, but only in the delivery of the huge bombs.
